New Radio
If I wanted to purchase a new radio controller for my epoch what would I have to get? I was looking at the radios over at towerhobbies.com and I have no clue what to look for or if it is even possible to use another radio with the epoch.

Do you have a MiniZ? If you do, you can use the Perfex controller with the Epoch no problem (just swap out the crystal).
Otherwise, you can use any 2-channel, 27MHz AM Transmitter. To save on money, try and find the TX alone (without the RX and Servo).
Good luck.

Well I don't have a mini-z yet. Is the perfex that comes with mini-zs as good or better than something I could buy from an online store? I guess what I'm trying to say is, should I just wait till I get a mini-z and not buy a new Tx(transmitter?)?

IMO, if you're getting a Mini-Z anyway? Then WAIT and use the Perfex that comes with it for your Z and Epoch.
The Perfex is a solid Transmitter, NOT like the CHEESY kiddy-toy transmitter that comes with the Epoch!
No need to waste money buying another Transmitter if you can already use a Perfex!

Just make sure it's 27mhz AM and has end point adjustment for both throttle and brakes.

Ummm dumb question here but what are "end point adjustments"... can I use the old fashiond "joystick" controls... I'm still waiting for tiny to get me a white integra so all I'm used to are zz and bit.... these are a whole new ball game but they look sweet.... apparently HLJ has a yellow integra but no pics yet on their site....

Tinyrc has a really nice futaba controller for $35...

It will work on anything requiring 27Mhz and AM, just add your own crystals.

Nah i am using my ancient Traxxas controller, about 8-10 yrs old.
My friend uses the one tiny sells for his entire fleet, from the mini-z to his 1/8th scale gas buggy.
