Milpitas, CA, just a few minutes south of SF.
I believe you can register the morning of the event. But email microhobbies at the email listed at the beginning of this thread to be sure.

Heh, a few minutes? By air maybe... I'll bet it's more than an hour easily especially if there's traffic.
Wish I could go...

Looks like I might go. I stopped by their shop at the Great Mall today.. HOLY CRAP they are overpriced. 15.99 for a single body??? I can get them on eBay and from Tiny for cheaper. And not only that, but there's a Japanese import store in the same mall that sells the bodies for 10.99...

Well, that was fun. I didn't get to see what my time was for the drag race event, and my main car (6 volt lithium battery super dragger ) broke both chassis tabs and it wouldn't stay on the body with just electrical tape (too much wheel rub ) So instead I had to run my race-lightened Skyline. The courses they had looked cool, I played around on a couple after the race was over. My RX-7 was too low to drive one of them though, the two boards were slightly off center so my front splitter on the RX-7 would hit it like I was curbing a lowered civic

6V lith drag racer!! thats sick! Hows the speed on that? Smell anything burning after you play with it?! I would imagine it really gives your motor a kick over a regular 2.4v modded ride.
Couldn't fly out for the race. Couldnt get the days off. So how was the turnout and more importantly, what kind of speed and mods did you see on the drag set? I thought 2.4v's would dominate but it seems some folks maybe holdin out with thier secret setups!!! So cmon now, whad'ya see?
Oh and how did you "race-lighten" your Bit?

Speed on it is great. Faster than my 4.5v watch battery boosted bit (which makes my 1.0 faster than a 3.8 but with more torque ) Can't use it for track racing though, as the overly weighted top causes it to tip on turning. There were only a few people dragging, unfortunately. I think there were a couple 3.8's and that was about it. I didn't see any major mods, but I could be blind. My race-lightened Skyline was running stock 1.2v setup w/3.8 motor. It uses the chassis I use for my RX-7 (4-spoke rims, I cut out the other 4), sanded chassis to lose a little bit of plastic weight, and the body itself is modded to sit lower (front and rear tabs), sanded out inside so the thing is more brittle than a saltine cracker, and windows cut out. No spoiler. Also, I was running the zip-zap radials (the ones with the funky tread pattern that looks like a real tire) on the rear to avoid rub, w/orange bit char-g gears.
The sanding on the skyline was mostly done so that I could paint it without truly adding any weight I'm going to have to buy another 45mhz booster/chassis because out of 4 chassis, I only have 1 that actually works, and even it has a broken rear tab (the others have various things, such as broken battery tab, yes I tried resolder, didn't work, broken front and rear tabs, broken front tab and battery slot, etc. So, soon as I get a booster and a gear set, I'll see what kind of times I can pull out of it. With all these broken chassis lying arond, I kinda wanna make an AWD Bit..

Yeah, it was a cool event. I've never been to something like this before so even though I didn't have a Bit Char-G (I currently only have a Digi-Q) to race, it was still nice to see it. I'm thinking about buying a tank for next time.
I was telling a few people about the Bit Char tanks. Here's a pic of 'em just to compare to the Digi-Q tanks:
Neat stuff.
Oh, and I checked and Capcom moved back the release of Auto Modellista from the first week in November to the 3rd week in March. Ah well. At least it'll still have online play. I was tempted to get the Auto Modellista-based DigiQ today, but they wanted $85 + tax. I just searched a little while ago and found it on ebay for $33 + shipping.

I got some pictures but not many; I'll upload them sometime today.
As far as number of people, I'd say there were about 20 people there, and about 14 racers..

Car 'show off' didn't really happen; it was free to show off and nobody really did. I'm downloading pics from my digicam right now...
