Bit batery

hello
i got this little problem with my car. i use a 3.0 motor and it runs pretty fast. but the run time seen to be a little short. so i put in a clone battery. now the 3.0 is even faster. but the only problem is that it runs for only a minuite. i tried using a 1.0 with the same clone battery and it turned out to run for 4 minuite. i think there's something messed with the voltage to the 3.0. the clone batt increase performance but shortens run time(by a lot).

Sounds like the new batt is pumping out more voltage, but isn't holding enough current. Check in Bit Science for the thread about peak charging if you want lots of details.

Have you tried double or triple charging your Bit? That would be the first thing to try -- just charge it up multiple times in a row before running the car. And make sure you have fresh batteries in your charger.

so does that really help? i mean, wont taht just kill the battery even worst? it just gives it a temporary boost and the battery will die.

Your new battery may have a smaller capacity. Then, a single charge would peak it and you'd get more power, but the run time would be shorter. You should be able to get the same effect from multiple charges on your stock battery, which I'm guessing has a higher capacity.

Which reminds me.... Does anyone know what the mAH rating is for the batteries in Precious clones? The battery in that thing doesn't have any markings, and I don't have a multimeter handy right now.

all nicd and nimh cells are gona be rated at 1.2v with a complete charge it will be 1.25 or 1.3 almost empty it will be more like 1v

mah = capacity which varies

from what ive found, most clone batteries are probably in the 80mah range. zcars 100mah batteries are good. i get great runtime and plenty of power. they have gone under heavy use and still work fine.

not charging it to its capacity kills it more. an 80mah should be charged about 3 times to be fully charged.

again ive said this a billion times. dont get an ulcer over a 3$ battery. even the good ones are what 4.49$?

I think if u keep on charging to it 1/5 capacity in the long run, the cell will memorize it as it got 10mAh capacity instead of of 50mAh capacity..

That is why with cell phones/vid camcorder they recommand fully discharge b4 recharge, so its capacity won't degrade a lot after a few charge..

pretty much a good rule of thumb is 2 or three chrarges for a decent run time.

also bit batteries are about 1/10 the price of a phone or camcorder battery.
