Check out the shop... but here's some help. Remember, you'll need a body too. I can't remember where to get those... But look at the other posts, they're VERY helpful.
Electronics for DTM
DTM Basic Set
I've got a used one and with a stock Micro RS4 motor, it is FAST. I can't imagine how fast I'm gonna go when I hop it up!!!

andrzejpw, the basic kit comes with a motor. Feel free to post any other questions you have about what you need / what you get.

lol, well, because of the fact that it would cost upwards of $200, I think I'll pass. But I WILL, otoh, get a mini-z in a few months. I mean, it seems to be pretty upgradeable, and reasonably priced.

IMHO, the ABC is the best bang for the buck. But why not get both?

Something with the fact that that would be about $350.

ANDRZEJPW, PLEASE DO YOUR MATH.
Hi there, I see you're in for a small scale racer and that you're considering the ABC SP. But then I read...
"lol, well, because of the fact that it would cost upwards of $200, I think I'll pass. But I WILL, otoh, get a mini-z in a few months. I mean, it seems to be pretty upgradeable, and reasonably priced."
What am I missing here? Let me see... you'll pass on a $200 car, just to buy something MORE EXPENSIVE ??! Right, 'cause we all know that a mini-z is relatively "reasonably priced" but what you get is a pile of ill performing parts lashed up to resemble an r/c car. In order to get anything remotely similar to the word "high-performance" you'll need to spend THREE or FOUR times the purchase price. And wait, thats not all...
It will NEVER EVER handle like an ABC or a Tamtech or anything else nomatter how much money you spend. Unless, that is, you buy a mini-z FORMULA 1. That is a totally different story.

The mini-z will only be for light use, etc. Maybe one day, when I get a real job, I'll consider the abc dtm. Unless I can find one used. . . I mean, I'd need to buy TONS of stuff to get the abc ready to run.
The mini-z, otoh, I realize it won't perform nearly as well. But I can buy it cheaply and upgrade, if I want, as I go.

OK THEN
But buy an F1. That way you'll get the best from two worlds. RTR at a relatively ok price and the possibility to upgrade as you go along. The F1 really is a stunning performer.
Have fun!

well mine that i just puchased is near bare bones:
abc dtm sp-$75
body-$11
battery pack-$28
ipd race-20 speed control-$45
hitec hs-81mg servo-$22
already have radio, reciever, and charger
paint-depends
this is probably around $190-195 shipped.
you could buy an airtronics/sanwa es-01 speedcontrol-$30 and hs-81-$18 and that saved you about 19 dollars if you already have the radio gear. note that i purchased from www.horizonhobby.com, www.servocity.com, and www.micrors4racer.com
you could just pic up an airtronics blazer sport or futaba magnum sport. i recommend the latter. they would be around $4o-50.

I have nothing. So it'd be around $250?
