Well, as of last night's testing, the best frankenmotor was the stage 2 drag, with timing advanced and spin brush magnets. Runs about the same speed as the normal stage 2, but with much improved acceleration. The only other one that was decent was the X Speed armature with timing advance and Squat can magnets. Acceleration wasn't great, but top end was good. It wasn't a bad setup for a RWD car.
The other experiments weren't very impressive, though I never really did test the stage 1 road race with timing advance and spin brush magnets on the actual road course. Top end wasn't very good, but acceleration was just about instantaneous. It was probably good for the tight course.
I don't know if I'm ready to start building motors for others. Maybe when I can build some that I'm actually satisfied with...
