look at the compatibility list!!! or go to the FAQ. one of the first posts that says read me first. it has a compatibility list. and will explain all of this to you..
or you could just look at the documentation that came with it.. it will tell you all about the gear ratios and the motor speeds which are more likely faster than what you got in your clones!!!
some clones do overrate their motors. the kit motors if orange are a 2.6 otherwise i believe they are a 2.2. the gears are detailed in the little booklet or flyer that comes inside the package.
that battery is the same 50 mah that you get in the real bit or microsizer.
you should really read or check the rest of the posts because all of these answers are there.
however if you cant find them.. just post back here and i would be more than glad to help you out

The trick is to not do that.
Use this as an excuse to build dedicated cars!!
(It's working for me so far)

by repeated i mean about 6 times. trying different combos of motors and gears. i would like to have dedicated cars for different things, but i dont quite have enought money to go out and buy all the cars for all the types of driving i wanna do.. besides the car still works great. the axle wont fall off. thers just a littl play on the side opposite the gear.

how do you guys use the kit motor. Do you have to use the gear that comes with it?

kewl!
Did hotwheels ever advertise the KIT racers? I wonder why they aren't more popular. Seems a shame to buy them for parts because they are nice toys.
The track sets seem pretty neat, they are stackable, etc. I'm going to find the test trax for a gift tomorrow. Wish me luck!

We emailed a few people about getting a track to help us test motors, can anyone help us out? Please email tinyrc@tinyrc.com - we'll trade you an R-Spec or something for your efforts - thanks!
