Gimme LiPo!

Q:-Have many people managed to run a car on Lithium Polymer Batteries?

I think this is a serious Mod as it will improve power to weight and handling.

I have seen Kokam 145 cells (20x28x35mm) which will fit but will only give about an amp each. I may double up two sets to give me around 7.? volts and a max of about 4 amps at peak.

Q:-Does anyone know how much current a typical 6 cells setup uses?

Q:-Does anyone know of better cells that will also fit into the foot print of the battery area on the car?

Q:-Anyone have any other ideas about mounting cells?

Sorry for loads of Qs but this area (LIPO cells) seems to move very quickly.

I guess the best you can do is to use 2 x 2S 600 Polyquest in parallel .. one per side ... you will get up to 12Amp continius discharge ... whell over the 180 amp drawing ... and you will have 1200mAh 7.4V pack !
