Im intrested in makeing a 1/87 4WD buggy/stadium truck

I am intrested in makeing a 1/87 custom 4WD stadium truck or/and buggy in the future and would like some advice and details on what parts (drivetrain, gears, axles, radio, esc, reciever, motor ect..) to use.

I plan to make A arms, chassi, shock tower, shocks, and stuff like that.

And I would like an estimate of $$$ to make one.

Any other help is welcome.

Also, I never had any experience with 1/87th cars.

If you want a good propo setup and all that for the TTTT, you're probably looking at something in the $200-300 range.

If you're wanting to go more low-end, and have a decent pile of junk to work with, it can be done for pretty well under $100. The big thing now is ZZ-SE donor for steering and such.

hey grimm where do you live?
I'm in southeast michigan.

I would like to make a 1/64 scale 2wd stadium truck and a 1/64 scale 4wd buggy.

I know you wanted to make a 1/87 scale but it may be as easy as downsizing the parts we design, I have some tools that could make this happen.

If your close enough we may be able to work together on it.If we got busy on it we could have something in 4 to 12 weeks.

Those drawings are still pretty rough and just the general layout(only 2d).I need to draw up the drivetrain and rear hubs/front spindles along with the steering in 3d.The front and rear spindle/hub parts need to be more enterchangable so I can go to a 4wd version very easily.
The drawings are to scale for a zipzap-se although the wheelbase is 6mm longer.

My thinking now is to make a servo kit out of the ZZ-se steering system or just modify the rack and pinion system they have.
I'll use a slot car crown gear for the rear axle (on bearings) and have 1 maybe 2 motors laying parrallel to the chassis if I can get the motors to fit.
I have to make an adjustable motor mount that will allow the proper meshing of the idler gears from a ZZ to be used since the crown gear wont always be changed out when switching gears.I'd like to have bearings on everything but the motors and idler gear cant really have them.

I really wish there was someone close to my location that could help out with this project since it is a big undertaking.
Parts have to be found and made.
Cars have to be tested (the fun part).

The hard part is going to be cutting the parts out.
I'll have to sharpen and clean my hacksaw and files LOL.
