Air Hogs Helix (micro helicopter) for $45.57!

http://www.buy.com/retail/product.as...266&adid=17662

There's been a lot of chatter over at the RCGroups about this little heli and how nicely it flies. I was ready to head out to Toys-R-Us this weekend with a $5 off coupon (but their price is $59.99 so I'd still have paid $55 for it)...So this is a sweet price!

I just ordered mine and will report back on how it goes!

I've read that these are cool little helis. It can even take a light breeze outside as I understand it. Most people seem to rip off that ugly little body right off the bat. The only complaint I've heard is that the control inputs for the little side thrusters has a slight delay, but I don't know if that's true.
My son-in-law has been wanting to buy one of these for awhile now. But, he decided to wait when he heard about the recall on two of the stock numbers for the Lipo melting down.
Let us know what you think of the thing. I may get one for the heck of it.

I've been waiting to hear the skinny on these.

I've seen pictures, but that's about it.

I've got a Sharper Image store on the first floor of my building and got to take a peak at one...And they want $89.99 for it!!

Unfortunately I could only LOOK at it in the package, I guess the one they had for display kicked-the-bucket (not a good sign).

I've heard mixed reviews about these, but a coworker/buddy has one and bought ANOTHER one when I told him about this deal...So he's obviously happy with his.

Can't wait to get my hands on this!...Especially after the ordeal I went through with the Micro Mosquito.

Yeah, that's a shame about the MM. I know how frustrating it gets when fairly expensive stuff doesn't deliver. My first one was total junk, but this new one works very well.
I had thought since they seemed to have upgraded the ones that have the larger tail rotor already installed that all of the new ones would be good. However, a couple of people have poasted over at RCG that they are still getting bum MMs out of the new batches. Still, the MM is a blast if you can find a good one.
I swear, it's Zip Zap quality control all over again. I hate Radio Shack exclusives.
I talked to my son-in-law yesterday and he's still considering the Helix. He was torn between that and a Blade CX. He's still waffling, blade may be to big for indoors, Helix may get boring to fast. He'll probably end up with both, lol.

A buddy of mine bought a pair of these while he was in the hospital.

He's due home next week and we'll get a chance to fiddle with these things proper-like.
