Kevmeister it's gonna cost you around 225 just for the Novak Brushless system or go for the Mamba for around 250 plus your gonna need to switch to ALL custom made aluminum parts for the differential... Wait until the new GPM parts come out and get everything... Plus get new aluminum gears... This is gonna take some MAJOR modding...

Yeah, you'll need at least the motor, ESC, and a servo. You'll also probably need a reciever and controller.

Enter: Project Black Mamba
I'm right in the middle of the first attempt at putting a brushless motor and controller in an xmod AND use the stock electronics. I've had an adapter circuit professionally designed to act as an "adapter" between the stock electronics and the brushless ESC. I should have the circuit board in my hand next week and installed in the car. I have installed 2 out of the 3 LiPo batteries I'll be using (ruined the third one on the installation process -need another one)...
Now for a question: Should the silver RSX or Vette be the car of choice?

No problem. I'll probably be making a full write up, so everyone can see it. All needed parts should be in my hands this weekend or early next week. I might have this thing operational sometime Thanksgiving weekend.

Update 11-20-2004 -
Here are some photos of the nearly completed project:
Everything but the adapter circuit is installed and ready to go. I'll be getting it sent to me next week.
Update 11-29-04:
I've installed the new circuit in the car now. Here are a couple of photos from the dyno on a 13t pinion (85kmh = 52.8mph)... I NEED a bigger pinion. Chino, send me a pinion!
The Lego bricks on the speed checker were there to help keep the car from jumping off (didn't help much). This thing has WAAAAAYYY too much torque

The motor, ESC, and 3 Kokam 340's came from Bishop Power Products.
Driving this thing is almost impossible on all surfaces except carpet, so lastnight I decided to make it AWD. I also put a larger pinion in lastnight to compensate for some of the excess torque.
