Flat Track Removable Guard Rails

I just ran of batch of the new removable guardrails for Flat Track. These are compatible with all previous versions of Flat Track. These ones are for straight sections only. The ones for the curves should be up by the end of the week. Here are a few pics

Arch,
I can try, The curves require some more work. I have to make an additional fixture and edit some g-code for the curves. I will try and get a video showing how they attach.. Basically they just slide under the track and the rail lugs engage the track lugs. They can be more permanently attached with a little packing tape under the track and they will not come off until you remove the tape. The rail is low but it keeps the dNaNo on the track well.

i'm liking what i see looks just about perfect.

i see what you mean now about interlocking on the bottom.

curious but did you try slot car type rails that would simply friction fit snap on? those would look awsome for dnano use.

I am not sure what you mean, It been about 30 years since I had a slot car set. What I recall is that they hooked under the in the track on the verticle and top sections of the track. Are you familiar with a type that might slide on. I am always looking for something better. Its funny, my 9 year old daughter looked at the latest revision tonight and then gave me a detailed description of a realistic looking guard rail that slid on and explained how it would be much better than what I had done.

Another option

The eva inserts can be easily cut and swapped around by the user to achieve many different looks.

thank you for sharing the pictures

it's been decades since i had a slot car track too... i just recall you being able to push on a scale looking guard rail that was flexible plastic.
here is what scaletrix currently offers

just tossing out examples of scale appearance barriers. i would be just as happy to have you what you are offering now.

here is a picture of their rail attached to track

Drop in run-off area with guardrail

Here is a simple and efective drop in system if you like a runoff area. They stay put and are soft on the cars. They only took a few minutes to make and cost very little.

All you need is..

1) WallMart Yoga Mat. The thin one for $ 9.88 .One mat will make about 14 sections.

2) Interlocking Floor Mat. One floor mat will make 20 guardrails.

3) Oatey all purpose cement from Lowes or Home Depot. (The red can)

4) Utility Knife

5) Straight Edge
