Mini-X compared to Mini-Z
TinyRC, how do these two compare? I have browsed these forums and see that some folks use a 7.2 V battery with these things. I've put a 7.2 V on my Micro RS4 and it FLIES. What would that do to a Mini-X. One person said that the Mini-X performs like a $350.00 hopped up Mini-Z. Is this true?
Please let me know some of the "ins and outs" of the "X".
Thanks!

The 6 cell pack is amazing. With 4 cells, it's a great car, but with 6 cells, it's amazing. We'll be adding hop-ups including the 6 cell in the next few days. The Thunderer, you in particular will really enjoy this car, with the 6 cells, I think you'll lose interest in your Micro!

TinyRC:
I dunno... at least with the Micro, I run on the street (remember, there's no one else that I know of that is into R/C here in HILO, HAWAII!). Isn't the Mini-X similar to the Mini-Z? Aren't they limited in the same way (smooth surfaces -- no STREET racing).
I've still got my DTM SP to start working on and my Micro RS4 to finish up (I'm just about finished up with my Z's). MAYBE after them and the 140mm Micro I want to do, I'll look into the Mini-X.
Man, all these cars and no one to play with... almost heaven, but not quite! Can you imagine... my only competition is my uninterested (in R/C) wife and 5 year old (going on 6) son??? SIGH!!!!

I run my X on the street - it depends what you're running on - but if you're running your Micro on it, the X should be okay on it too.

Been reading, thanks for all the info guys...
I just ordered a mini-x car kit, can I use the radio form my Mini-z, or do I have to get a new one?
Just curious.
thanks

The Mini Z radio will work great. Just pop in the crystal that comes with your X and set up the esc.

Man, TinyRC! You're making it VERY difficult on me! I've got projects coming out of my EARS!!! I've got a DTM (used) that I want to work on... I've also got the Micro that isn't finished to satisfaction, the Mini-X is looking VERY tempting.... (I KNOW, I'll eventually get one).
Sheesh.... I guess I'm ONE GREEDY, INSATIABLE man! Maybe I need to learn to just say "NO!"
Nah, I'm just too weak! LOL.

The Thunderer - I know how you feel - I've got so many now I've lost track - currently working on a Kawada M24 Mid - at least with the X it's assembled and performs amazingly out of the box with the 6 cell pack, so you won't need to spend a lot of effort hopping it up like a Micro.

thunderer, tinyRC... Yeah. I'm feeling the Urges of RC addiction too. In less than a week I've bot a MicroRS4 and a Mini-x (and a Bit Char-G Motorcycle)... all because I've spent too much time here on the forums!...
THe worst thing is that little voice in the back of my head is calling out to me to get a DTM too...
must... resist... temptation...

Crash Rehven:
You know... we could start R/C Anonymous! Then, the money we collect from our fellow addicts, we could use to fund OUR addiction! LOL.
