i have not run the fairlady z but i've run the gt-r r35 gt500 on 98mm and really like the stability and steering it offers. it's not as numb as the db9 for example. i've had to sand down the bottom rear splitters so they do not drag on the rcp track.

what setup do you run?

i run the gtr on a mini z already, I was refering to dnano gt-r gt500.
if you cut the rear end out on the body the car rotates easier and is more aggressive. also if you shave the nose and get rid of the carnards it will help immensly. Also if you run the pan off sets the car is real good!!

opps, sorry, missed the forum heading.

i have the dnano as well

issues i have, you must run the correct wheel diameter or you have wheel clearance issues both front and rear. even with stock dia. the front wheels can rub the back of the light buckets. the rear wheel arches offer limited suspension travel before rubbing.

in general, it's doesn't feel as nimble as the vette. it handles the bumps well enough but the length and weight really put it at a disadvantage to the vette. i got smoked with a similarly setup vette at the last dnano race i participated in. i love this body but i plan on trying the vette as well to see which i like better. i'll take the heavier body if it means a more consistent run for me.

i am waiting for mine to arrive. I will be running the smaller rims with mine. the rims it calls for are 19 I'm going to run the 17 to see how it runs. I am not worried about how nimble it is. I rather it be stable enough for me to drive it. I will post ics settings and set up for mine when I tune it enough. I found the ics helps the cars alot.

body clearance issues can be resolved with the proper spacers. i drive the fairlady z with smaller wheels, you can review full setup details here. once you've got it dialed, its hard to beat!

Qon discovered the bit about the spacers being incorrect and is a major source of clearance issues. i highly suggest reading his review. even so, the wheel space is still miniscule.

the body mount is attached to the lower front suspension plate. adding a thinner spacer (.5mm or no spacer) will raise the body mount position thereby raising the mount height (or tilt) of the body. you can also use x-power rear suspension plate spacers to lower/raise the position of the motor mount.

Ran the gtr today real stable compared to the carrera. I did notice a ton more hop. I lowered the car using some plastic shim stock I had laying around. I want it a bit faster though. how is that xspeed kyosho motor?
