fm radio w/ receiver?

i have my car apart and wondering what to do from here. i just bought a jr xs3 fm synth radio for my 1/10 rcs, and since its winter, i cant use it anyway. can i exchange the receiver from the xmod to the jr receiver if i get it to fit? what will i need to do to it? or would it just be like too much freakin work? i just dont like that goofy controller they give you. plus i hate radio interference.

i already tried puttin the crystal in my 27 mhz am radio for 1/10, but it turns out the xmods are on some sort of 26mhz band.

any advice? thanks much

xmods will only work with their own controller i just tried the crystals out of my 1/10 n they worked with my xmod controller and car. Im not sure how hard it is to put different electronic in the xmod i was thinking of tring it myself sense i have a lot of stuff for bigger rc.

heres a pic of what i got. notice the xmod receiver, and the purple arrow pointing to the three wires. those three wires are identical to typical rc receiver wires (also shown). can i cut those three wires on the xmod and re-solder the deal and plug it in channel 2 on the receiver (the channel an esc goes to on normal cars)? thus giving me a hobby grade receiver and radio?

That wouldn't work. The wires on the XMod board do different things than what channel 2 does. You would have no way to steer it. The best thing to do would be to find some way to mount a Hitec HS-55 servo to the stock chassis and get a micro speed controller. Then you could have a hobby grade radio.

You might be able to steer by plugging the xmod servo into the hobby class reciever I believe the wires do ,do the same thing.

Hobby servos have 3 wires, and the Xmod servo has 5. Won't work.
