I just pulled the trigger on a Duratrax Ice Charger, there's a sale going on (5% and Free Shipping) over at Bishop Power:
www.b-p-p.com

After I saw pics of that gargantuan screen (well, gargantuan in the realm of chargers...Considering most don't even have one) I was hooked. Plus this thing charges everything...Whereas the Apaches don't do older cells that are 3.6v and we're all unsure whether it'll do Li-Ion.

It would seem I've just taken my first (BIG) step into going Lithium!

eh..... but you like spending more money than me anyways :Þ

I've actually done some research and it would seem that li-po batteries are actually polymer li-ion batteries.

I've charged my batteries a few times and they seem fine. I'm not worried about it at all.

I believe the static sensitive means that they could be damaged by a static shock.

The FETs are better than stock, I can't remember the exact numbers. I think stock handles 5A where these handle 7A or something. They aren't quite as good as the common 4562 FETs most people sell.

For the price though, I don't think they can be beat.

Remember that the current through the FETs is a function of both the batteries and motor. Stock FETs will handle Li-pos if you use a stage I or II motor. The other FETs that I bought will handle more than stock, allowing for a "hotter" motor to be used with li-pos.

Now if you stack a few of those FETs, you can run so much hotter motors than the RS ones. Swapping or stacking FETs takes some good soldering skills and patience. I've seen a lot of messed up electronics from people trying to do it without proper practice and equipment.

Just a friendly reminder too, please try to write legibly, and watch that caps lock.
