I just googled it and found a guy who was CONVINCED TO HECK AND BACK that they weren't possible. Weirdo. Anyway, I'm curious to see how your idea will work, who knows, it could become the new XMOD fad...

get serious. if you really think you can accomplish this, you are crazy. maybe your mom told you that you can do anything if you put your mind to it, but you cant. if you want real RC quality, invest in a real RC car, not an xmod.

I'm on this forum to look for news on the new xmods. I know I came off kind of harsh, but really, where are you going to find gears small enough, and how are you going to have the gears change?
I had a lot of fun with my xmod, but once I got a micro RS4, I realized a lot of stuff that needs to be improved. BTW, if any of you are looking for a micro RS4, you can buy a starter kit for the same price of an xmod evolution.

hey. I'm all kinda in-and-out here, but i hafta speak up when i see a tranny in the works.
If anyone remembers all the brainstorming we did in other tranny threads, a cvt would be a VERY good way to go. I dismissed it b/c there wasn't a whole lot of space. but, i have no clue what the specs are for the new models. if you have about 2-3 cm of space in a circle around the motor, and about 1-2 cm along the shaft, then i have some ideas that could work.
the idea involves a pully that is split in half, and some spinning weights, like a govorner of a steam engine. (google it if you don't know about them) anyway, it takes alot of space.
glad to see ppl still thinking about a tranny.
