there are a lot of cheap ripoffs out there but the bottom line here is that if you want quality (you don't want to pay though your teeth) you have to do your homework

check out auldeys new mini-z ... it has full proprtional steering and throttle and looks a lot like kyosho's mini-z but has a larger body and use AA batteries ... retails for about $40 on carmoworld.com ... not bad for a fully proportional car (proportional control not size) ... and auldey quality and durability is quite good (better than the cheap knockoffs but below kyosho mini-z's) ... haven't got one yet but i've heard good things

not to rain on your parade, but i doubt you cold get a true kyosho mini-z for 9.99. it may not be a heipao, but that doesn't make it a kyosho. there are other clones as well.

post the ebay link and i'm sure we'll be able to tell you one way or the other.

maybe you can get out of the deal.

Hey toyotaland369,
What generation Racer did you get?
MR-02 or MR-01?
PS: You can NEVER find a TRUE Kyosho Mini-Z for $9.99.
NEVER.

I hate those stupid kids in school!!!!
I'm using my Z as a robot for Science Olympiads, and some kids asked how much they were. I said $150 and they didn't believe me. They must have run into some Heipao crap, because they said it was only $20! What a bunch of IDIOTS!

I'm using it for a robot that is supposed to move around billiard balls on a four foot table, WITH NO RAILS.
