ok my last set of rides that stripped out where the axle attaches to the chassis i went all crazy and put a plastic tube around the axle and cut at the chassis and epoxied it all into place and this worked well but was a pain to remove.
well last night my first bit chassis started to slip(right after i put pullback wheels on it of course) so anyhow i didnt wana cut apart the underneath of the chassis so i just put the axle in put a piece of tape over the gear so i wouldnt mess the mesh up. now heres the part where you are gona say"what an idiot"
i put jbweld(epoxy) in the axle around the ends so the axle was completly covered with epoxy and let it sit for a few hours. yes i epoxied my axle into the axle holder. after a few hours the jb starts to get a little thicker and i ran the axle fwd and back a few rotations to loosen it up. i did this about every hour until i went to bed. it still wasnt totally dry when i went to bed but it was set pretty good. also the axle would barely move when i gave it juice. sounds like i cemented my axle into place. well i did
then this morning i just kept working the wheels around until it broke free. i had to chizzle off a little slop from where the non drive wheel touches the chassis and stuff but after a few test runs it is almost better than new. ill lube it a little tonight to quiet her down but this is nice. there is no slop in the up/down direction or side/side. the only way my axle can move is clockwise/counterclockwise.
this mod is semi removable but you will probably have to reglue it back into place.
well anyhow now i can take sharp turns at high speeds and not flip over!! its cool i also can "drift" on carpet now.
