how fast are the tanks?
hi all,
Just found this cool thread and was wondering how the tanks compared to the micro rc's in speed. I don't have one but was thinking of getting into it... haven't seen any tanks around so the only way to get them is to order online.
If you guys have the microsizers/other micro rc cars... how would you compare the handling, speed and over all fun factor?
Thanks!

Welcome to the Forums FullTilt.
As to your question...Well, asking how the Combat DigiQ tanks compare, speed wise, to the Micro RCs...Is like asking how the real Tanks compare, speed wise, to street racers.
See what I'm saying here? Tanks aren't about speed.
You put a tank up against a MicroRC in a race and the Tank will lose MISERABLY. But so what? MicroRC doesn't have the kind of Torque of a Tank, or proportional steering/speed nor do they have Lasertag built in.
As far as fun factor? that's easy, these tanks are GREAT! Even my Wife likes them!

Thanks for the info and the welcome to the site Namuna...
I guess I should've phrased my question a little differently. In respect to the micro r/c cars, how much slower would the tank be? About half the speed? I am not too interested in playing with tanks at a snail-like pace. I read in some other threads that the different model tanks perform differently too... is this true and if so, what are the benefits or disadvantages of one versus the other(or is it just personal preference)?
Thanks in advance!

Ummm, thanks?
I just ran one of my little cars with a 1.0 motor...I would say the Tanks are about that speed, maybe a little slower.
Again, tanks are NOT about speed! As a matter of fact, even though they seem slow compared to a car...They're going to seem FAST for Tanks, especially when you're trying to line up a shot against an opponent.

I think the tiger is the right one for him...
I donīt like it much because of his speed. Steering is not as good
as for the T34/85.

So then they're not terribly slow then huh?!
Namuna did you ever put any graphite powder or something on the gears, to quiet them down?
I remember reading something in regards to that a while back... I think, anyway if so did you notice any improvement in performance?
I can't wait to see the New Tanks, w/ the controllable turrets... I just may breakdown at that point.

Nah, I've actually come to ENJOY that grinding noise! Seriously, it's as if it ADDS realism to the tanks!
