Zot's Panther
Thought I'd add to the fun with my Panther after putting decals on it and ink washing it.

Two of our tanks
Here are a couple of our tanks. Both have weathered pretty extensively and are pictured on our modular battlefield.
Take a look at our web page at:

I recently weathered my Panther some more while I wait to find a remote controlled turret version of my beloved tank available online. This time around, I added the antenna for the tank's radio, a drum fed copula mounted MG42 along with the rail its mounted on, drilled out the main gun's barrel, and added a helmet on the stowage. (All the extra parts were looted from some 72nd scale models I had kicking around.)
I think it looks a little better now.

these are some amazing tanks!
someone interested in describing how to to the ink washing or weathering (that doesn't include air brushing).....i'd love to get some grit and wear on my tanks. they are rather bare without the decals and custom work.
also, where did you find the decals? are their part numbers that i can send to tiny so he can order them?

No airbrushing here! The hard thing is finding paints that are close to the colors on the actual models. I used paints from the Vallejo line. You should be able to get them online or at a well stocked hobby store.
I wash my tank with a 75/25 mix of water and Citadel Black Ink wash. Some places you'll have to wash multiple times to darken it. (In the grills and on the road wheels for example.) If you do it, use the bottom of the tank to test it out and practice. You don't want to screw up on the top! I washed the entire tank and then dry brushed the high lights.
The decals were put on first before the weathering. I painted on some gloss varnish in the places the decals were going and then put the decals on with some setting solution to avoid silvering in the decals. Once they were dry I covered them with gloss varnish again and let that set over night. The next day I sprayed dull coat over the entire model to make sure the weathering and decals don't rub off. I used the turret cover to protect the clear IR piece from the dull coat. Be careful, you don't want to blow the cover off and get dull coat on the IR receptor piece!
I got the decals, with the tank, from hlj.com. The decal sheet has enough decals for 4 different panthers and 3 T34s. There’s supposed to be sheets for the other tanks too. The label is in Japanese so I don't know where to find the part number, but the UPC code is 4 988602 094879. (Hope that helps.) They're also listed on http://www.micro-ir.com/combat/english/index.html under the line up section.

Me? I used watered down Games Workshop Inks, some drybrushed paints, and artist pastels.
