diy rcp tracks
i have an idea, tell me if you like it or not. if you were to take foam that you get from the hardware store(the kind that is like the mats that come in these track, if you know exactly what kind tell us) and you cut out different shapes for the curves and strates and such, but then used the extra material(or more mats) to make the walls wouldent that solve the problem of haveing pvc pipes hurt your car? is that the same as what rcp track walls are? also you might be able to get the texture of these mats the same as those in rcp trackes by useing different grade sand paper. i have never seen one of these tracks in my life, but would like to see a cheaper version that works the same.

From what i have read there not the same stuff. I guess you could probably try and simulate most of the premade tracks out there with something from the local store. This would be considered a d.i.y track. I think there will always be those that are d.i.yers and those that want something more profesionaly built, like the premades. I am sure alot of times it comes down to if you are handy around the home or if you have the coin to spend on a quality track. I base my opinon on what other say about a product that have already tryed it before I spend money on something . I am not to much a risk taker with my money. I have read a lot of pretty nice comments about people who have actualy raced on this rcp track, even some coments from people who raced in kyoshos race and they where very happy with it. Ive made plenty of hometracks and I feel Im ready to invest in something better than the one sitting on my garage floor. I also read that kyosho is selling them. I dont think kyosho would sell something unless it was something special and good.

I had a diy foam track made from foam mats . I just replaced it with an rcp-track. The rcp track is far superior in grip, ease of assembly, wear and tear on your car, ease of track setup, and durablity.
Yesterday we had 4 cars running partically non-stop for 5 hours with out a single track problem. The foam barriers can take full speed hits and just rebounds.
I am very happy with the rcp-track. $199. gets you the wide L and gives you plenty of racing room. I spent about that on my diy track.
Spend more time racing and less resolving track problems- get the rcp-track.

I agree with jaubery. I received my rcp tracks friday and I got the wide L and wide oval tracks. I've raced on a wood track and a carpet track with pvc. I can tell you that my cars took a beating racing on those tracks. I've lost/broken parts not to mention cracking the fronts of my bodies.
The rcp tracks are worth every penny. One of my friends killed alot of his mini zs racing on the other tracks and when he tried the rcp track there wasnt even a scratch on his car.
I took some shots of the track in my garage. I used just about all the pieces of the track. I'm definetly gonna get more rcp tracks.

i have a wide oval coming soon so this will be a very nice setup when it's done. myself and 2 others ran for about 4hrs without any problems other than hitting each other. btw, the offroad tiles are great too! be sure to check my rcp album to see the offroad section that will be a branch off of the main track
