i have found dozens of sites explaining the exchange. a soldering iron and a set of balls willing to rip apart their zip is all it takes
i have a clone and have thought of doing it but havent got much experience (looks too easy b ut it may be)
the clone speeds along with all the motors from a zip in it proving the pcb is better but its still a tough decision (even with 4 zipzaps still in the boxes)

It's completely your call. Personally, after my first PCB swap, I'd never play with one out-of-the-box again. First thing I do to a brand new Zip is cut out it's PCB. The PCB swap makes such an improvement, I can't believe I actually liked zips before I knew of this mod. You might want to hold off if you have any doubts. Wait til' a few of us are able to test the new Sharper Image Clones. They're the same size as ZZ's, but we're all hoping they come with a better PCB board. They're on back order and mine should be here right before Christmas.

Body and chasis length look the same. I've only seen pics. I suspect the motors are also the same size.

if you gonna do it heres some tips:
1) Make sure you write down the layout on both PCB's
2) Have a FINE POINT soldering iron
3) Have to have some time
