RS XmodsRC XRL rules
I saw this on their XmodsRC site about the rules.
Quote:
DISCLAIMER: Void in the states of CT, MD, VT, and where prohibited by law. Open only to legal residents of the 50 states of the U.S. and D.C. who are 13 years of age or older prior to registering and who have or own a RadioShack XMODS Custom RC car prior to registering. You may pre-register online or register at an event location. Entrance fee for event is $30.00. Upon check-in, each registered driver will receive a competitor's gift pack valued at $40. Ends 9/19. Travel and/or prize restrictions apply. First prize winners must be available for travel during September 2004. For full Official Rules send a self-addressed, stamped envelope (by 11/19/04) to: 2004 XRL National Tournament "Rules", P.O. Box 6375, Burbank, CA 91510.

not bad, i just loose out on 400+ bux...not including food, travel and sleep quarters... just to race?

$30 gets you: an XMODS bag, an XMODS T-shirt, an XMODS hat, an issue of Super Street magazine, a sticker, and a Sirius key chain.

It's only gonna be for 4 cell cars? If so, can I run a quick connect that just routes power through where my 6 cell would usually be? Also, what are the rules on the body? Do you have to run an xmods body? If so, can you leave off bumpers, spoilers, etc.?

6 Cells with the transponders they use will kill them so I'd say no to 6 cells.
Quote:
Q. Can my car have upgrades?
A. Yes, your car can be tuned with any RadioShack upgrades, except the light kit. It can't have a light kit upgrade, because we have to temporarily install a timing transponder for the race. This transponder fits into the same location as the light kit. Get more details on the XMODS Qualifying Specifications.
|
Since the transponder uses the light connection then you must keep that level below 6 volts.

What is and is NOT allowed per RS
Quote:
Only RadioShack XMODS race car chassis, shells, electronics, parts, and upgrades are allowed. No shims are allowed anywhere on the Car. No modifications are allowed to original XMODS chassis, shells, electronics, parts, or upgrades including weight saving measures such as drilling or cutting. All parts must be installed according to the directions provided in the XMODS Owner's Manual or upgrade directions. Power boosters of any kind are not allowed. No tire treatment of any kind is allowed (i.e. traction compound). Only AAA alkaline or AAA rechargeable batteries may be used. Batteries (4 only) must be installed as described in the "Installing Batteries in the Chassis" section of the XMODS Owner's Manual. Additional batteries are not allowed at any time or in any configuration. No batteries will be provided for Cars in the Pre-Season Tournament. Once a Car has gone through inspection, batteries may not be added or switched for any reason prior to the ensuing Round.

Straight from their rules http://www.xmodsrc.com/stopdroprace/xrl/rules.php
Since they did not say what kind of rechageables use IC3's.

I made room for the 6 cell in my car. Oh well. That did not answer my question though. Can I run bumperless? It technically is a stock, unmodified shell.
