smart range question

i read a lot of threads speaking of xmod gen 1 range . They always say that when youre range is **** you need to check the two green resistors of the range if there blown or fried. People also say that you need to buy the repair kit because you cannot get the green resistors anywere. Instead of using two resistors why can't you use one? Do you have to add the two green resistors resistence and find one that has the same resistence? is it possible? And another question is what is the green resistor on the left of the range crystal? I ask this question because my range is **** and everything is good and fresh and well screwed. Thanks!!
