" I didn't have much luck as the PCB in the cars is very large and won't fit up into the top passenger area of the new bodies like a Zip conversion will."
Is it the PCB or the batteries tat are causing the difficulties? If its the batteries...is it possible to rearrange the dual set up ( i.e. lay them down) to acomodate the shell?
" A van, wagon, or SUV might work much better. "
Rest assured i will have the Escalade pimped out tonight ...........

It's the PCB. The batteries usually fit ok, but the PCB is almost as long as the chassis causing it to hit the body at the low points in front of the windshield and behind the rear window.

Hmmm...extremely silly thought
but HOW much of these corners can be shaved? The PCB is plastic and unles it has a purpose specfic areas could be shaved...
Also...Have you attempted the Import Tunerz body transplant? They are failry hollow. Wait...you mentioned they are the same scale as JL so Imports would be to big. Hot wheels? They seem about the same size and yet deep enough to accomodate the pcb as you desribe it.
My main desire in regard to these cars is to correct the yet to be seen gripping issue with the tires but id like to prepare in adance for the body swap. There is a Lambo/Murci Hot wheel begging to be placed on this chassie.

Not sure. The front is a lot of the problem and that's where the steering wires hook up. Right on the edge, so shaving would be impossible there. It could help to shave a tiny bit off the PCB to fit some bodies, but I'm not sure.

Even though I'm not Azimov, my take is the new motorworks mixed with some mincrosizers parts.

I've owned most cars out there except an actual imported Bit. And, I prefer Zips. There's something about the longer wheel base and (IMO) quality of the Zips. I just don't like the scrunched up cartoony look of the Bits/MS, MW, and various other Bit clones. I have only a few cars besides Zips that I kept in my collection and didn't destroy for other things. The two Awesome cars that are beautiful but have a noisy gearbox. And, a new slightly longer wheelbase Motor Works. The new Motor Works are very nice and I plan to get more. The only drawback of the MW now is the terrible paint jobs they have. The first thing I do is paint them. I've had my eye on one of the new longer MW cars that has a pickup body, but it is painted a horrible hot pink color. Windows and all. I still plan to get it and customize the body. No, if I could buy only one brand of micro, it would be Zips. Better handling, nicer look, best quality.

I was the same way in the beginning....ZZ's al the way. Longer wheel base and better body articulaion than the scrunchies. Now....after having dual celled vehicles and building stand alone chargers, swapping rims, making custom bodies......ive come back to the basics. I want a functional vehicle that LOOKS real. Zips did it for me initially ( and still do some what) but not enough for me to drop cash after these Awesome R/C's. The box may be noisy ( i dont have anyhting to compare it to because i dont run the other cars) but its damn nice and haul when the "nitro" kicks in on the straight a way. I suppose a muscle car (Charger ) for ZZ's might change my mind but id rather wait to see what the MM's will look like inthe "flesh". Thanks for the input.

put bigger wheels on it, it will decrease torque created by the small wheels, which will decrease slippage, my walmart just got them and the new motorworks but i had a mission to replace my broken old motorworks, which so far is my fav car It pulls wheelies out of box, NO MODS WOWOWOWOWOW.

My Awesome R/C road test
Oh mamma! Wallyworld came though for me tonight and had the new cars. Of course I grabbed two.
Anyhow, my initial impression was..wow..these things are small. Then I found the remote and thought cool, looks like a speedometer, but it's small too. Then I tried to charge the car, and couldn't get my big hands into the damn bottle...and even when I did, it took a while to get the car on the charging posts. Note to self...unscrew the bottom half of the bottle so I can charge the car ASAP (it looks like it will come apart pretty easy).
The car is just plain tiny. The bodies are detailed, paint is ok, but I think they're too narrow and just don't look right to me. and man, they're small.
So it took a while to charge, like 5 minutes or so. I pried it out of that damn bottle, and headed for the kitchen floor. Wheel hop, wheel hop, wheel hop. This thing never hooked up no matter what I did, but it was fast none the less. Turbo speed...haha, forget it, no need to spin the wheels anymore than they already where. Steering was responsive, but unpredictable with the back end bouncing all over the place. Range was no problem.
Once on my circuit, I though for sure the painted surface would provide better traction, but nope, hoppity hop hop, all the way home. This led to an inspection of the tires, and they seem a little hard and plasticy to me. Note to self...replace tires with something rubber after fixing charger.
In summary, charger and car are really small. Turbo button is in stupid location. Car tires suck. Car is fast (2 cells). Charging is not. Mod potential HUGE, but it's gonna require work as there aren't any parts designed to be swapped.
I think ZipZaps are still a bit cooler at the moment. More easily customizable, and they drive sooooo much better. But hey, that's just my 2 cents.
