civics like i said before have THE most parts avalible out today.

i can prob get close to 400 hp in my car (NA) but to have 500hp w/o turbo or supercharger is almost impossible. just to have close to 400 will be expencive and prob incredable.

motor swap, manual, intake, header, intakemanifold, no catylic converter, custom pistons, cams, gears, fuel rail, iridium sparkplugs, prob a new ignition system too, racing chip, pulley, stroke your engine, port and polish engine, weight reduction, ram air, etc...

MAYBE you'll get close to 400... if you got money and a good engineer...

but the sky is the limit... maybe one day i'll reach it...

Hmm... last time i checked MR2 do not come with turbo my friend. And i dnt even have a car yet. I do like the 240 Fast Back. Hmm all motor does mean u cn hve a supercharger....just not nitrious. JRSI u are a moron my friend has an MR2 and he spent 4000 on a turbo for heis car. He now has 400 hp just from the turbo nad a tanabe exhuast. So i would shut up if i were you. another thing the reason why i hate the civics is beacause they havea horrible reputation and plus are ugly. i dont want to say this cuz last time i said it i got bitched at but CIVICS ARE RICERS. I have yet too see a 9 second civic. Plus the 9 second civics (if they even exsist) arent a daily driver. they have everything removed but the passenger seat some dials and a steering wheel. civics actually have a GOOD rep and are not ugly... maybe in your eyes but thats just your opinion so im not gonna say anything. Maybe the person who modded the car had bad taste.. you never know..

civics are not "ricey"... that is a bad steriotype... why not eclipses? they are japanese too... or integras? integra and civics are basicly the same thing in japan. why dont u call all jap imports "ricey"?

and about the 9 sec civic. NO CAR that is 10seconds or below is a daily driven car. the porshes and other EXTREMLY
high powered cars only go 10sec and/or slower... there is NO stock 9 sec car (i am prob wrong but prove it then) And YES there ARE civics that run 9s... 8s... and yes.. even 7s... they will soon break the 6.... but thatll be prob later on...

all drag cars regardless if its an import or not will NOT have back seats or passager seats... too much weight. weight is one of the biggest factors in racing.

if you want to see a 9 sec civic why dont you look around?

yes, mr2s are turbo, maybe you could get them without, but why on earth would you do that when you could buy a car with the correct af ratios already.

like arrive2defy said, 9 second cars are strip cars only (besides a few barely legal muscle cars). a fast street car is sub 15s. a really fast street car is sub 12s (i believe a 911 turbo is around a 12, and a zo6 is a mid 12 for comparison). if you ever had the chance to drive a car this fast (or ride in one), you would realize that a car that is in the 12 second range is actually pretty sketchy it is so fast - almost scary

turbos do not cost 4000 dollars.

I'm not saying front wheel drive is better, it's just that you can't disregard it as an option - that is totally unfair, especially when you add an lsd - then it is actaully a pretty good match.

here's another fyi - turbos and superchargers are both hands down considered forced induction - duh. some consider nitrous a form of forced induction too (because technically you are adding a colder denser mass of air).

i'm kinda proud that i have a low 14 second civic - if you (alex) ever have a timeslip that is lower than that, i'd love to see it and give you props, but i doubt it will ever happen. btw - civics are better handling cars than fast cars, so this is all kind of irrelevant.

turbo is around 2500 and a full exaust is around 750

and whats wrong with spending 20k on a civic to make it 400hp?

Arrive2Defy- Thank you for speaking up on the turbo stuff ;-). Yeah but my friend has an MR2 and he spent 4k to get it to 400hp. His dad has a 9 scond mustang and i forgot to metion to JRSI YES I HAVE RODE IN A 9 SECOND CAR. THIS MUSTANG. Arivve get a 240 fastback man or something else. My friend had a civic DX and he sold it for the MR2 and now hes happy he sold his civic. its just a huge diff man. LOL man my dads 4 door family car Mercedes e320 can burn GTS's lol. how much is stock mr2? if he only spent 4k then the stock hp must be pretty high. turbo will only add like around 50 some hp (depending on the turbo(s))... and a tanabe exaust prob like 15... did he do anything else?

if your friends dad has a 9 sec car would you mind asking him how much he spent? just for my own personal curiousity.

also anything can burn a civic. i ran faster then my friends civic! lol..jk.... anyways civics are project cars and take time to work at. but if u put enough love you can get a 9 sec car.. also its lighter then most cars so they prob will burn that 9 sec mustang your friends dad owns (no diss just if they were to match two 9 sec cars together.)

about the GT's, try burning it in a civic... pretty car unless you do some work.

stock mr2 (na) had 135 hp.
the turbo version had 200 at 6000 rpms.

i'm yet to lose to a rustang gt (although a new svt spanked me) that's on the street though. at a strip the mustangs would probably get me because of the start (no torque with the civic - it's pretty fast from a roll though).

did he get anything else? like intakes? headers? INTERCOOLER? etc..?
