I really don't care what day we race as long as everyone can make it It seems that most of us have had something going on for saturdays

Tuesdays will work best for me.Work is picking up again I will be working this Saturday to finish getting my funds together. If things go as usual we'll be on 6 day weeks by October if not sooner. So I'll wind up with a stable of cars and 0ne or two nights available to race through the week; but I should be able to make Saturday evening races at Hickory if they get going.Seems that this group here is the most active one going.

Everyone come hungry on Tues. Brent is going to order pizza!

The local flying club has their club meeting the first Tues of every month, so we may get delayed until about 7:30ish.

If everything goes as planned I'll be there next Tuesday to buy my car, controller, bearing set and ball diff and probably some replacement tires. From what I've read about the stock ones.I got a deal I couldnt pass up on a second battery last weekend so I have an extra dNano battery waiting on the charger to arrive.Next up is a decent carrying case to put everything in.H.O slotcar stuff might have to find a new home; or the old 1/25th slotcar stuff its a nicer box but heavy.

I will probably race that night in the stock configuration.I have some fine tuning to do on the ball diff that I know of already. The car will most likely stink out of the box but I gotta put some laps on it for a good baseline. After that; Joe I don't know if I'll catch up to you or not but I've got my eye on second place already.Schools back in vacation time getting ready to start over new racetrack in town;sounds like a good combination.

We are pushing to make Tues the big race day, but the track is still availabe for use on Saturday of course (and every other day of the week, besides Wednesday).

Nitro, a nearly stock car, when driven cleanly, is almost competitive. It takes a couple minutes to throw the bearings in it, and maybe a tire change is all you'll need for your first night of sucessful racing. Joe isn't as fast as he is hyped up to be; he just really has his nose buried in the cars and practice right now. Rob Meyer gave him a good run for his money, and actually won at least 5 rounds (albeit, in a J. Ellis prepared car) with last night being the first time he ever drove a dNano.

Yeah I'll be a car tuner myself.Thats what drew me to Helis the drawback is crash expense. The cars won't be as costly and I know a little more about "blue printing" a car. What I really like at the moment is the limited motor selection so as far as motors it should stay pretty close.I'll take handling over speed most of the time.I raced slotcars a long time and I am really excited about these.I really see these replacing slot cars if nothing else due to the ease and cost of track construction and assembly in case you can't leave it set up all of the time. The next thing that needs to happen is an affordable timing software for home use.The Kyosho system looks nice but the pricing is a bit much for what it does; verses a slot timing system that has to be able to control track power for segments or heats and all of the cables that go with them.

Talking

Well I couldnt wait till next week on everything so I went on and bought my car, diff and bearings today.I am working on making the diff super smooth right now I have it better but not quite how I want it yet.

Radio and charger will be bought Tuesday I hope.

I got a good look at the Martini 917 while I was there. That will definately be my next car purchase. Then I'll wait for a white body to be released for the Gulf project.

This may be addictive
