I bought a "Fitracer" at Walgreens Drug Store today for $13 and the cool thing was it was a 35MHz channel. In comparing with the
"Shen Qi Wei", the Fit Racer will only go about 15 feet compared to 25. Seams tobe geared lower and has a grey chassis.

well look at it this way...you now own a rc car with a frequency not allowed by the FCC...(are you a cop...go turn yourself in) so the pcb could get swapped into another car so you can race more cars...check out more under the 6 frequencies under the check this out first sticky)

Lightbulb Cannonball and Precious clones

a bunch of people in the office got these for christmas. heres what we have decided.

Cannonball Mini r/c car: comes in an egg shaped bubble,(not snowglobe type) motor is a pinkish color (egg says its a 2.6). it has a seperate car charger which uses 3AAA batteries, and the controler uses 3 AA batteries. says 6 minutes of running time, but you only get about 1.5 minutes befor the car will no longer move. and it takes about a minute to charge. the car is slow!!!

Precious BitChar-A: comes in the snow globe type bubble. only requires the 2AA batteries. has those green gears, and the motor is Flo. Yellow. only takes 45 sec to charge, and running time is averaging 6-8 min. after 5 you can tell its starting to die though. This is much faster than the Cannonball of Poo. you can make it flip if you want to.

Does anyone else have this clone? how does it compare to others?

I bought a few of the cannonball clones at Brookstones for christmas gifts. They seem to be decent quality, the kids were running them today and they tracked straight, and were as fast as my Sen-Fa clone with a tomy 2.2 motor. Notice that they have the separate charging base, yet the transmitter still has the flip lid for the (missing) built in charger. The separate charging base would be good to mess with if you wanted to build a custom charger though....

we might have just got some bad ones. ours worked, but after seeing what the others can do they didnt seem so hot... and after doing some careful inspection i realized that the reason that the race time was so small was that it had a smaller battery. although not that much smaller.. 10mah smaller.

Question I havnt heard anyone talking about these...

I just picked this up today, I live in Japan, and have heard a little about mini racers (from canada originally)
Was shopping and saw original BitChar-G's and then these ones that come in two boxes......
Did I make the right choice, or did i make a mistake

those look like the right thing to me. the car box that you have is a booster kit... just basically a car so that someone can add a car to their collection without paying for the whole controller and everything else. that controller is the one that will controll all the frequencys. thats about it.. as far as im aware those are the real bit char-g's

If you're gonna get a clone, I would stick with the Shen Qi Wei (aka Rally Racers), and Lxx. They seem to be consistent with quality, and they have decent motors out of the box. The Lxx claim to have 3.0 motors, but in reality they are like 2.2's. The Shen's are 2.6's and have hella torque.
The Shen's PCB can handle a 3.8, if you want ultimate speed.
