I have:

4 shen's
2 Precious
2 LXX boosters
1 Fit
1 Zip Zap (not considered a clone, but I'm not too impressed)
2 Micro Sizers (not considered a clone)

My ranking:

1) Precious: Good speed and torque, good bodies, steering is average, good compatibility with Tomys (good price - $9.95)
2) Shen: Good speed and torque, average bodies, steering is average, good compatibility with Tomys (good price - $9.95)
3) LXX boosters: Average to poor speed and torque (until I put a Perfection 3.8 motor in it), good compatibility with Tomys (good price - $16.95)
4) Fit racer: POS (I had no expections that it would be good, just wanted the body), poor steering, crappy "fit and finish", average speed and torque. (average price - $4.95, should have been $2.00)

Precious and Shens are pretty close. I used to be Shen fan all the way, but the Precious bodies are better IMHO. They are pretty equal otherwise.

BTW, Zip Zaps are a disappointment (@19.95 per), with the exception of the steering and TX (like the buttons, better on the thumbs). Little guts (torque), body mounts too high on chassis, bit incompatibility on some areas.

As usual, the all around winner is the Micro Sizer ($19.95 and $18.45). Best steering, good speed (has a 2.2 motor standard) and great bodies. Can't wait until the MS Pro comes out.

i saw the ms pros at toys-r-us for 19.95 yesterday.. and the ms sports were 14.95. i think they are all on closeout.. they also had tons of bodys and accessory kits for the microsizers.. most of the bodys were the celica and the skyline... and a couple rx-7's

I may be mistaken, but don't the Precious clones take 3 AAA batteries only? And aren't AAA batteries more expensive?

My Precious clones use AA's.

Although I doubt it, some Precious clones may utilize AAA's, because the biggest drawback of all clones are the manufacturing inconsistency (IMHO).

I've seen the same thing on TRU's website. I don't know if they are selling the same thing I'm looking for. The MS Pros I'm referring to have six available frequencies and are boosters. See TinyRC's NEWS page:

"June 2003:
MicroSizers Pro
Comes with one painted, one clear body, "blaster" (booster) button, and here is where things get good, six available frequencies!!!"

It may be the same thing, but it sure makes you wonder.

humm yea i know what the difference is. and yea they are the real ms pro's with booster.... the two bodys. and the 2.2 it says PRO in red... in case you didnt already know there already are 6 avilable freq... but they are usually not all avilable in one country... FCC regulations only allow 2 frequencys for R/C cars so you would have to think that to get all 6 freq you might have to have interchangable crystals... Believe me there is no wondering about it! these are the real things!!!!!!!!!!!
heres the pic

the only cars that i have seen that use the AAA batteries are the zipzaps, and the cannonballs.. or the ones that have the seperate charger.. clones are incosistant but that is a major difference so it may be the same company that makes the prescious but it would probably be manf. under a different name.... i doubt that any prescous use AAA's but i could be wrong

Hi all,
Precious clones only use 2 AAs, unless their specs have changed.

Thanks.

Spanky:

I read all about the six frequencies for MicroSizers Pro from this bulletin board. Since I read the six frequencies from TinyRc NEWS section, perhaps you can ask the person that posted the NEWS.

The purple goblin not only wispered in my ear, he took my billfold.
