I was in England and I went into store called The Gadget Shop. I saw the mini-r/c cars and instantly fell in love. I remember they had the compact char-g(the UK bit, made by tomy) and another brand with a pistol grip controller. I searched on the internet at cousins house( where i was staying) and found out more info. On the last day i went into a panic cause i wanted one so bad but couldnt find a gadget shop near by, so my mom did some phoning around and found one near the london eye( where we were going for the last day) when i went in there they only had the blue nissan skyline and the yellow honda s2000 so i got the skyline. My unlces going to england in a week so im gonna give him my english money to pick me up the other released compact char-g. I also have a silver celica on its way. Got my cousin(from canada) to get it off ebay. long post huh? well u wanted to know how i got into bits

I drive a real WRX ( blue, of course)and I thought I'd do some "window shopping" on the net for WRX parts, clothing and misc Subaru stuff.

Mini RC WRX's would show up once in while during my searches.
I checked one out. It was a Bit Char-G (good thing, I didn't know any better at the time!), it was blue and it was affordable. I had to have one, so I ordered one right away (Toy East).

I used to race 1/12 electric, so RC cars weren't new to me. I didn't expect much from the Bit Char-G WRX, thinking it was just a cool toy to have. But... It ran great! Not like my 1/12 cars but much better than I expected.
I had so much fun! And when I found out it was upgradable/customizable (Toy East threw in a free set of tires with my order!), I was hooked.
The rest, as they say, is history...
