what do u mean by marked 2.2 like right on the motor it said that or the package? and out of the "fast" motors what color marking were there more of?
i got a precious too and it's speedy it can run circles around my brother's precious
do u know what the warranty on them is like? i don't know cause my mom got me mine so i'm not sure and i kinda took 98% of the paint off the body does that mean i can still return it get a new one
my steering is all weird like i gotta push hard on the left button to turn it and when u push a turn button are the wheels supposed to turn when just staying still? i don't know if it's supposed to or not it's my first mini r/c

If the car is not moving, usually the wheels will not turn if you press the turn buttons. I swapped my REM from my toasted MS chassis to my shen last night, and the wheels still only turn if you're moving...granted they turn hella tight, but not at a standstill. Not nearly enough force turning them and the tires cause too much friction.
My random input for this post: Whenever people talk about Precious clones, I think of Gollum playing with a micro RC car.

I just tried to put a new set of gears/axle in my brothers Precious clone, and the axle wouldn't fit. The chassis is a little to wide. (nothing a little dremel work couldn't fix though)
It had a grey chassis, clear pcb cover, and a motor with a yellow endbell marked with a "2.2" sticker. My Shen will run circles around the precious, even when both are equipped with Tomy 2.6 motors. It could be that he got a "bad" one, but that axle thing realy ticked me off a little. Has anyone else had a problem installing Tomy axles on a precious clone?

The packaging wasn't marked. It was a small sticker on the end of the motor that said "2.2"
and all of the cars have had different coloured motors.
ex. pink,light blue, orange,etc.
Unfortunately the place that was selling them is no longer there (a temporary Kiosk) But I made sure to get the name of the company. After all I might need to get somemore

U every drive a motorworks clone? i bought a ZZ first and was hooked but i was at walmart the one day and say these clones, and figured it would be cool... but expecting it to be slow, i get it home and its was balistic!!!! i bougth 2 more, one is a donor for my ZZ now.
I havent raced any other clones so these could be slow to, but to me they fly!
I put ZZ red axles in both of mine, and put ZZ rims on the front of one, with a lexan body and it kicks but! they have alot of torque to, in fact my friend got one of them to wheelie a couple times today! the motors are white, and seem pretty fast, i think they are about the same speed as the ZZ turbo motor.

hey out there to everyone thats bought another shen to do some modding to... i would have got the precious if i could of but they were out. anyway i know they are both o.k. clones so i figured i wouldnt have a problem.
has anyone had this experience befor.. the rear axle is too long. so when i take left hand turns the car drifts out on the axle thus making the gears lose contact... neither of my precious, or my tomy bits or the other shens(dog ate them) that i had were like this. has anyone else had this experience? is there a solution to this.
i compared the amount of side to side play between all of my cars and none of them really allow for the rear axle to slide.
anyone else had this problem?

I HATE PRECIOUS!!!
I HATE THEM WITH A PASSION.
i managed a store that sold precious, shen, and panthers, and other peices of crap clones.
my rating system is based on playing, fixing, destroying, experimenting and modifying these damned clones.
1= crap!
2= more crap!!
3= crapcrapcrapcrapCRAP!!!
1= shen
2= panther
3= precious
Why?
the defect rate is higher for the precious brand
out of the hundred preciouss i have played with... the steering SUCKED in ALL of them.
whenever a customer brought in a defected precious... 45% of the time it was fixable.
the bodies were ok.
the speed was fast.. in fact we would randomly get these fast purple back motors (a MUST have)
but there was no point in having so much speed and wak steering...
most of the defects were defective wheels...
overall... the precious brand is poorly manufactured and you can judge that because it looks like the transmitters were defective and refurbished, repackaged and sold to suckers.
panthers... they are so-so... somewhat dependable (for a clone)
its #2 because the defect rate was not too bad.
and plus... they came in that mysterious 40MHz frequency
shen qi wei...
defect rate is less than the precious
90% of the time defective shens were easily repairable
speed was an average 2.2 to 2.6
steering is suprisingly good
in fact when my store was first introduced to the shens
we were actually worried that our TOMY BitChar-G sales
would decrease.... and they did decrease.
in one word that describes the shens performance
"smooth"
i have tested about 20 different clones.. from bitChar-A to LXX to micro Qs to precious to fitracer to... the list goes on... and Shen Qi Wei is overall the best clone.
the store i used to manage "micro hobbies unlimited"
sells the shens for 9.95

i forgot...
the shens bodies are so-so
terrible stickers
the colors are loud and fun
but,
the tomy bitchar-G bodies fit on the shen qi wei

humm well i have yet to see a problem with a precious. everyone in my office has them. about 34 total. and not one problem, other than the slightly off steerging that all clones are hampered by. this is my third shen and all three could not hold a straight line. this is not my concern, the steering can be adjusted. have you seen the problem that i am discussing or not?

that is my opinion
and im sticking to it.
what i said was from my experience.
i would rather race a 1.0 bitChar-G
than a damn clone.
precious are fast.. i give them that...
but my personal preference is between 1.6 - 2.6
the precious manufacturers just put out a really fast car
for the suckers who think its all about speed
why is everyone so concerned about the speed of the car?
3.8 this... 3.8 that...
i never really had fun with anything higher than a 2.6
i guess i never raced on a 3.0+ track...
so you win a few drag races with your fast car...
but does anyone have any skills on the tracks?
if you love the precious's so much compete them at
micro GAMES
february 16th
Milpitas
the flyer is on the norcal thread...
micro games is trying to call out all the mini rc cars
from zip zaps, digi q, clones and bitchar-Gs...
