stridex-- i think this would be expensive (lots of magnets) but you did give me an idea you make small flat car chassies mount a small fan on the back with some sort of steering mechinisim and build your track on an air hockey table

i've considered that before.... but the main problem i have had was getting decent thrust out of the little motors... there are not any decent fans or propellers out there... that i can find at least

Is it just me or does the skirt on that pic of the mini hover look like a condom?

OF COURSE!!!!!!

I've got it...Clown balloons! The long thin ones they tie into animals. You'll need to make sure it's powdered before use, but these WILL work. You can either cut it in half the long way and glue it, or just generate a fan that'll blow it up from the two ends. Blowing it up from the two ends will save a lot of the air from escaping from the top. You can even use two micro fans and two balloons. One on each side like a pontoon boat.

So? Who's going to try this? You should also make the body Styrofoam and the battery a li-poly.

Are you sure the Layman's Duel Cell Mod puts out more Voltage then the Li-poly mod? And how can it be lighter? I haven't read much about it, but I find it very hard to believe. If it's true, I'm going to be pretty upset with my li-poly and charger investment. I'm going to go read that thread right now.
