Just a tip...

AznMidnite, Here is a tip to make the Shen's even better.

I put Radio Shack Rare Earth Magnets in my fastest Shen (an Accord Wagon) tonight and it made a good handling car GREAT!!!!! Turns on a dime, and the steering/handling is very predictable and precise. It is a mod I will be doing to every single one of my cars, no question about it.

Do a search and you will find many topic listings on this subject or go to the QFM website for great photos & explanation.

Hi John,
Thanks for the tip! I'll try that. Is the Rare Earth Magnet the same size as the current magnet that is in there?

So not all of your Shen s are the same speed?

Thanks again for your time.

Of the 6 Shens I own, I did have one that was noticably quicker- even though it has the same pink colored motor as most of the others (one of my Shens came with a SLOW white-ended motor- that one got a KIT 2.6 orange motor!).

The magnets come 2 to a pack; each single one is exactly half the size of the stock steering magnet. Just use both of them at once and super glue them in place of the stock magnet.

I am happy with my shen .
It is the best of the three clones I have so far, easily deserving the F&F Zip Zaps upgrades that turned it into the little screamer it is. The others have wimpier motors and batteries and gearing.

So there are no compatibility issues with the Shen's and other parts?

Cool!

Hi krillin52,
The LXX Char-G's are not actually the real Tomy ones. Even thought the packaging looks almost the same, the Tomy ones say Tomy on the top left corner, and the clones such as Lxx or Sen Fa s, don't have the word or Tomy symbol.

Lxx s are pretty good clones, but I like my Shen's better for both speed and handling. My Shen's came with a 2.6 motor, and the Sen Fa clones I have came with 2.2 motors.

Either way, they are both good clones.

Hi peeps,,

I sell both the Panthers and the SQW cars,, for the most part these cars have very similiar build quality with some variation in the motors,, the SQW cars have thicker heavier colored plastic bodies (nissan gloria, honda accord wagon, nissan skyline, honda s2000). Panther cars have thinner lighter bodies made of clear plastic more like real tomy bodies. Panthers come in mitsubishi lancer, ferrari modena, ferrari f40, mercedes clk gt. Both Panther and SQW are great clones. but,,,,,,

I just started selling Precious clones,, and I pulled one out randomly,, this little car is very impressive! The car pops wheelies and is noticeably faster than both the Panther and the SQW cars.. The only thing is I'm not sure that I might have a particularly good batch. I am going to have to sample more of these precious cars as I go,, as that is the only way I can insure the quality control,,, I'll let you folks know what I find, these Precious cars might be a winner too.

just my .02

-Bunta out

Thanks for your very informative reply Bunta!

As with most clones, there can be good and bad batches. Maybe you got a lucky good batch! I bought my gf's brother a Precious clone, and it was pretty decent, except for going straight and steering. I took it apart to check the magnet, and it seemed fine. As for power it was pretty fast, but not as fast as my Shens. My Cyclona seemed to be the same speed as the Precious, maybe a little faster.

However, most people that have Precious clones say they are pretty decent for clones.

Thanks for your time.
