Cool cool!

Hey, always glad to help. Sadly now I'm in this big what can i make from what mode, and its went down to real cars, i causght myself seeing how i could put the rx-7 and skyline bodies together to make a porsche 944....and dont hte porsche clones look more like 928s than 911s?

Sorry to rant, but I guess being too much of a car nut does this to you, now im thinking hte 2000 gtr body could easily be made to resemble an old saab sonnet, but i havent seen one in so long that i cant say for sure.

Now tomy making a porsche 944 body would be really cool,

for all refernce a 944 can run a track with a same year 911 with near identical track times, only diff is the 944 has far less power, but has an almost perfect weight ration (50.8 front/ 49.2 rear), and the 911 has the 42/58 weight ratio and so much rear wheel torque and htat 4k rpm power bump that makes it very hard to corner with. plus hte later model 94s looked really sweet, and are quite affordable nowadays (92 for 8k)

Boys, Boys...

I ll say it another time

An uboosted bit goes very, very slow. So if has a 2.2 motor will run even slower than a 1.0 motor

A boosted bit goes much faster than a bit with the same motor. So if it has a 2.2 motor will run faster a 2.6, almost like a 3.0

In the first case, it happens because the pcb leaves less than 1.2V from the battery to pass to the motor.

And in the second case somehow it gives a little more than 1.2V.

Don't ask me how because I don't know how to explain it, Im not an electrician.

And you said that a motor cannot pass its limits. Thats not true though.
Take the example of the dual cell mod. With this mod a bit run like crazy, almost twice as fast. Because the motor takes 2.4V instead of 1.2V.

so what you are saying is that the speed a motor will run depends on the voltage run to the motor??? makes sense, thank you!!

Thats what ive heard too, that the non boosted cars are actually more limited then a 2 speeder under boost conditions (all things being equal in both cars) Gosh I cant wait till my set comes in.

PS: how do these things run on hard carpet. like carpets at department stores or schools?

it would be pretty fast, with my 3.0 it seemed to make a pretty big difference, but it didnt seem to flip over...hmmmmm Im still looking into this, perhaps the auto modellista sets and 350z sets have an improve suspension?

couldnt there be some kind of resistor so that a 2.2 is really goint 2.0 or 2.1 but when it gets boosted it runs to 2.2. i dont just a thought

think of the unboosted as having your foot at half throttle, and boost as full throttle. and boost is a fair amount quicker. just get a nice quick motor, and run it with boost off, and use the boost switch as nos if you want, or get a nice torquey motor and treat the switch as an accelrator pedal, lete off on turns, punch in the striaghts.

again, all a matter of preference. no car is superior, just different.

i dont know but maybe the booster has less resistance than an unboosted bit. ...i dunno

Hmm?

So, has anyone tried a 3.8 or an r-type motor/rotor/engine with an auto modellista or perhaps another car with boosting capabilities? Respond when you get the chance, Im eager...

Here are my results with a 3.0 motor and booster/non-booster. With boost the car seems to act more like a 3.1-3.2 well, watever it is its slightly faster in a drag race. I think it's probably that when you press boost somehow the motor is getting more volts to it than the regular non-boost. Just a guess. Without boost the car goes a tid faster than a 1.0 motor somewhere between 1.0 and 1.6 motor.
