Kingofjapan, why don't you try to make a light skirt from a black balloon. That shouldn't be too heavy.

i think if you come up with an innovative idea that tiny can help with i see the same thing happening. that kind of project can end up in hobbylink japan or some such - it's way out there! things like my musical greeting card horn don't cut it lol. like those digi-q submarines, anything that pushes the hobby forward and promotes mini r/c is worth backing!

lol
you're one to talk, mr. "hoovercraft"
Two motors and four batts.. that's a lot of power! Guess you won't be charging that with the regular controller since it's 4.8v. There is a 4-cell batt pack in the Epoch Racer shop that Tiny could probably give you a good deal on, but you might prefer single cells so you can spread the weight out evenly. Or maybe you are only using some of those but wanted some spare parts to experiment with.
I think this is a cooler project than the bit plane! Post more pics whenever you get something else done.

I have an idea for a hoverbit. While the best solution would be to use a skirt so you can take it over any smooth surface, I thought of another posibility. I'm not going to try this, but would love to see someone else try this. What if you made a track. But, this track is covered with strong magnets. All laying face up with the same polarity. Then you build your bit pan with the same magnet but facing the same polarity down. You wouldn't be able to use the magnet as a steering mechanism so you'd have to control the fan that would push this with a second motor. Would this work? What would someone have to watch out for if they attempted this? Is it even worth attempting?
