I'm just finishing my crawler... I have to make that decision too. I'm using a bigger/slower motor than the typical red zzmt. With 2 cells it's really slow and still has tons of torque but the steering needs to be improved. I would make some temporary set ups and try 3 and 4 cells, which i'm going to do.

I wouldn't tri-cell a crawler.

A quad cell in parallel for the run time would be great, but additional speed isn't crawling, is it?

Does the extra voltage from the tri cell conversion increase the torque to the steering motor enough to make the steering better?

The extra voltage does help the steering. I did a tri cell for my brother.... but I like my quad much better with a 10 tooth pinion. Doesn't accel the best (waiting to do a fet mod), but it's top speed is faster than my xmods. your job is pretty clean... I added a switch to my brothers to bypace the third batter if he wanted.

wow

just quaded one of my ZZMT's all i have to say is wow. you cant keep the front end down.

i had done a 4 gear mod but with the gear fliped for speed. and it is realy fast, but wow i did not expect that.

I cant wait to test this on at work. blow peoples minds.

I think it is faster than my stock xmods.

if you want speed do the quad. wow
