the antenna mod is pretty easy... i have a 27mhz zz, but improved range quite a bit by undoing the antenna knot (underneath the carriage PCB)... keep in mind that, as with all wireless ops, sometime antenna *placement* can also matter (such as antenna orientation, or how you hold the controller)...
btw, $24 may not be a bad gamble, but it does pay to shop around! if you do go for a group buy, i wish you good luck - a good deal is a good deal, eh?
these things are getting quite popular, so we're seeing prices drop even more on some cheaper imports!
i can hardly wait until more features are incorporated, but that <$20 sweet spot is hard to beat!
