Thanks for the input. I just won an auction by Toyeast on eBay for an LXX Skyline, 3.0, and 4.2 motor. I emailed the guy and asked if I could pay the extra $4.05 to get the perfection 4.2 motor set tossed in the same package and it's a GO. so I will have a pair of 4.2's and a 4.2 Pro to play with. I agree that the pulsed power probably isn't that great on the motor. My microsizer did come with the 2.2 as well. I put my official microsizer's MicroSnap 2.6 in for my racing recently and that's been working just fine. I already disassembled my 3.8 motor a few days ago. I cleaned everything off with alcohol and airduster (well, the moving parts, not the brushes)
I think a wire is broken inside the motor's armature somewhere. It's no big deal. I just need another fast motor for racing. I'm racing against a bunch of people who think that the microsnap 2.6 is the fastest thing out there since it's the only thing they can find in stores

they have no idea that there are other parts out here, or that there are "unorthodox" modifications for these cars. they think all they can change are gear ratios, motors up to 2.6, tires, and suspension pivot bars.
Needless to say, I'm still able to clean house with a 2.6 motor. My MS Pro is not dual celled yet. I have an old microsizer car I bought that needs new front wheel spindles (I'm waiting for them from rcmod.com) and I may very well dual or triple cell it when I get it back in running order again. I have a few nice zip zaps bodies, so I'll probably stretch it to fit the zip zaps body style, and then there'll be enough room for batteries in there.
thanks everyone for your suggestions. A lesson learned is that it's a good idea to keep spares of your favorite motors around.
It's sick to think that when I get this shipment from toyeast I will have an arsenal of 14 motors...
2 Green "Stock" Zip Zaps motors (rated 16,000 RPM)
1 Old-School Blue "Handling" Zip zaps motor - now non existant?!? (rated 10,000 RPM)
2 Old-School Red "Turbo" (now performance?) Zip zaps motors (rated 21,500 RPM)
1 Old-School Yellow NOS (now "Turbo") Motor (23,500)
1 real microsizers 1.6 out of my original microsizer
1 real microsizers 2.6 that I bought from the hobby store
1 real micrpsizers 2.2 that came in my pro
1 Unknown speed motor (seems like a 1.6) that was in my wife's "cannonball" clone.
I won't count the dead 3.8 now because... it's dead.
coming with my LXX:
1 3.0 that I guess is stock on the LXX Char-G?
2 Perfection King 4.2
1 Perfection King 4.2 Pro
Sheesh. My zip zap is totally destroyed, probably thrown away... so that leaves me with 3 cars and 14 motors once I get the LXX package in.
