I did in fact have to trim some. There was some harsh rubbing when turning, more when turning in reverse. What I did was I hand sanded the wells from the inside out at a taper. I sanded only enough for a clean clearance. This is only for the front, the rear didn't need any triming at all. I really am not positve and a lil too lasy to look it up so don't hold me to it, but I'm sure these rims were no bigger than 9.5mm. I wouldn't recomend going to 10mm becuase that is the rims measurement and you would have to add upto 2mm for the rubber.(only speculation on my part I haven't measured) I'ld say you'ld be safe between 9mm (not too small) and 9.5mm.
These rims, just like the bit charg pullback wheels, enhance the handeling tremendously. I would recomend them to anyone. I would also warn people that for the money you better know what You're doing. These aren't that hard but they also aren't a simple wheel swap.

I see, thanks for the info! I have 4 rim styles picked out a 9.0mm set, a 8.6 (which might be to small), a 10.0mm set, and a 10.6mm set. The 10.6s are the white letter tire variety and are too cool to pass up. I plan to put them on a formula one Zip I'm designing so wheel wells aren't a problem. I'll try your tapering technique as the results are very nice. I might have to look over my other choices though.

I tinkered around with some sheet styrene the other night, but put the project aside for a while as it wasn't coming out the way I wanted. I'll probably wait for the new rims before I pick it up again. I have been gathering photos from online and even found a Bit conversion on the subject. Those white letter tires and alloy rims would definately make for one great looking F1 conversion. I'll post when I get somewhere, you can count on it.
