thanks guys

thanks a million for the help guys! Those pics answered all my questions. I lucked out and got one of the black cobras with the good pcb. It totally smokes the older one. BIG difference in performance. My old one didn't run any faster with the 28000 than it did with the 23500, but my new one flips when I turn sharp! I'm lovin it! I'm thinking about exchanging the older one for a newer model that will handle the motors. Hopefully they dont give me a lot of trouble trying to exchange it at RS tomorrow.

I corrected him, saying that there were indeed three versions of the PCB, and this was a common symptom of the older versions with the faster motors.

He still argued about it although I showed him pics of the first two PCB versions LOL. Then in his wealth of knowledge, he overcharged me for another part I was buying, and sold my nephew the wrong Lithium battery that's shown on the ZipZaps web site for the LED thing. The one that he sold us was WAY too big to fit in the ZipZap, ended going back to the store to buy the *correct* battery, and get a refund for the part that he overcharged me for... aarrggghhh...

Sorry to dig up this extremely old thread, but I had to add another R$ experience today.

I bought one of the new red 350Z's, and the body doesn't fit properly on the chassis. The way it is on the specific one that I bought, the antenna wire is being flattened by the windshield of the body. I also noticed that body is extremely hard to take off and snap on.

Anyhow, my father was heading towards R$ and I asked him to exchange it for me (seeing that he was heading that way anyways). The R$ bonehead said that the antenna wire isn't covered by the warranty, and gave my father a hard time trying to exchange it. He finally agreed... when I received the replacement ZipZap, the R$ nut had removed the screwdriver from the new one, saying that he couldn't find the original. Now I know that this is trivial, but doggonit! The scredriver was in the little hole on the transmitter. Time for another ride down to R$ just to pick up my counfounded screwdriver!

Anyways, that's a real crock about the antenna wire... not covered under the waranty? Horseshot, I say!

Just a slight update to the saga.

I called the RS in question this morning. Heh, the first thing that he said when answering the phone was "Radio Shack! You have questions? We have answers!" LOL! My first words were "Where the hell is my screwdriver?" LOL!

Anyhow, the RS bugnut (BTW he's the manager, and this is a franchise operated store) said that when my father brought the old 350Z back last night, that the screwdriver was NOT in the bag of ZZ stuff. I then told him that it definately WAS in the little hole in the transmitter, and yet he still argued saying that it was not, and basically I was SOL.

I asked my father about it, and he said that the RS bugnut didn't even LOOK at the transmitter! Next time I'm down in Homestead, I'm gonna pay a visit to RS and slap someone upside the head.

Folks, I know that this screwdriver thing is quite trivial, but it's just one of many problems that I've experienced and/or heard about throughout the years dealing with R$. Other than the ZZ cars, I HATE R$!

Anyhow, enough complaining, time to get back to playin' with my ZZ's again -
