Coop253,
How much better than what he was doing is it to call someone names? I've removed your comment and ask that you hold off on doing that. EVERYONE is welcome to their say on these boards...EXCEPT if they get PERSONAL and attack others.

dohcricer,
Did you really think I wasn't going to notice you have the same IP as Fastandfurious? You don't really want me to ban every account you spend the time and effort creating do you? Wait out the week (starting today, 4/23, since you went around the ban) and your Fastandfurious account will be reinstated...IF you heed the rules.

Now, back to the original intent of this thread...A 1:1 would only be possible (as I understand it) if you put the wheels DIRECTLY on the motor. Someone else on the Forum already posted about eliminating the idler gear so that's 1 step closer to 1:1 as well.

IM SOOOO SORRY!!!

Namuna im going to be honest with you.

I am sorry (really, truthfully and not lying) that i made dohcriceraccount and this account. I made this account so i could appologize to you. I didnt mean any harm in the first place and i promise to obey the thread rules from now on. I enjoy the hobby of mini-rc-car racing and i enjoy the community in which i have made some friends and shared ideas and thoughts that help eachother's hobbies (cars) out. I will do the time (1 week) in order for me to reestablish my account, but i made this account to just say "im sorry and i'm glad your here to keep these forums friendly, safe and overall great."
Thanx
(fastandfurious)

To nigeradriver, dohcrier, and fastandfurious,

This is obviously charliebrown....But look, FastandFurious has sent me an apoplogy letter, which I don't think is necessary as he has already said that he is sorry. Guys, let's just forget this whole thing ever happened. Namuna, you're a moderator, right? Well, do us all a favor and delete this thread so we can learn from this and get on with our favorite hobby, Micro Rc's. I think FastandFurious is innocent.

i dont think he deserves to be banned, after reading the same questions and hearing things that arent anywhere near possible it is easy to lash and think you are being 'civilized.' ive done this a few times, not sure if it was ont his forum though. while he should have been more understanding or something like that(lol), i can relate to how he feels.

now back to the topic:
even if your car could get to 60/70mph, it would run out of batteries first

also, on larger 1:10 scale electric cars, they NEED to be geared down as well. no electric motor will support a 1:1 gear ratio without burning up or frying something. unless the wheels are small as crap, then maybe.

if you REALLY want to make your zip go 70mph, then attach some bottle rockets or CO2 cartridges and hit it with a hammer

Sorry, I just stumbled onto this thread and am glad Namuna didn't delete it. I read through the entire string and support what Namuna decided. Very fair in my estimation. Y'see, it's darn hard to get banned from this forum. Unlike "other" forums that will ban you for sneezing, lock threads, and chastise members over trivial things, TinyRC gives a lot of slack to it's members. This is a good thing. People make mistakes. Some of us are very young and prone to jump the gun. A draconian like grip only alienates people. TinyRC, and Namuna in particular, run a great forum with a more humanistic approach. But, there is one area not to be tread on, even on these boards. Respect of those in charge! You simply don't tug on Superman's cape. You don't spit into the wind. You don't pull the mask off the ole lone ranger, and you don't mess around with Namuna! I mean, a moderator tells ya to cool it. You tell him to kiss off, and he reminds you why you need to listen. Common sense here folks.

Well, Azimov, I agree with you on that, but as you see, F&F has done his time and is forgiven. But you still don't mess around with moderators! They are a high rank!!! And they are here to see to it that people can enjoy this hobby without being bullied!!! So Namuna took action, and FastandFurious did something very insulting to Namuna's intelligence!!! Now that I think about it, maybe f&f didn't get a bad enough punishment, but it's over with now, and I'll bet that some people noticed that FastandFurious hasn't said anything for a long time. And it was only a while ago that I discovered that he was THREE DAYS YOUNGER THAN ME!!!!!!!! Wow, but let's put this behind us.

Nah, the punishment fit the crime (if you can call it that, lol). I mean, he got kinda suspended, not really banned. I would hope that FastandFurious will continue to post and contribute ideas to the forum. He seems like a good chap and that's what's really important. We all make mistakes. It's what you do with the knowledge once you realize it that is the stuff of legend.

Well, you could layman's tricell mod the car with the 4.0 motor in it......same weight, three times the juice

Oh and by the way, I guess FastandFurious forgot one thing: He was right, and this is how: I doubt that you could run at a speed of 80 mph to chase that tiny thing, yet alone control it from 100 ft away

edit: does anyone know if FastandFurious is still on this site? If so, under what new i.d.? If he's been posting, then it sure wasn't under that sn, he only has 56 posts or so, NOI

I could see a 1.0 or a 1.6 motor doing the 1:1 gear ratio, they have the most torque. If the board had the mosfet mod it would probably work. It would be almost the same as if the motor was connected directly to the rear wheels.

I tried direct drive on a Canned heat once, put a 6v mabuchi 280 motor where the gearbox was and it worked on just the 3v from the car! It looked real wierd, it had only one rear wheel, just a little bigger around than the motor itself. (if the motor had a double ended shaft it would have been better)

The acceleration was almost as fast as it was with the gears, but it would only go on smooth floors.(the motor casing was only a few milimeters off the ground)

It seems like you CAN do it, but you need the torquiest motor, and a board that will pass high current stock , or with the mosfet mod.

did it have one drive wheel or one rear wheel? i have seen go karts with one wheel drive, it just turns better in way than the other, might make a good nascar.
