Nice pics man, it looks like its gonna be a successful chassis mod.

Yo Swavey, can you take a pic of a bit body on your small size wheel mod?

Bastard principal, i woke up at like 7:15 to go persuade my principal to let me go to track and field, and he says "no, your still on suspension" OMG man....so gay! I didnt sleep-in and now im screwed.

I already got the one chassis all cut in half and stuff, should be ready soon, gonna try and get the other chassis "preped" by tonight.

Ralli: here is that pic you wanted,

*Note: no lowering on the body yet, I will someday after my other mod is done, but this will have to do for now.......

Hey, this thread is getting life again.

Hey, my lancer is almost done!!!! Should I do a final gloss coat or somthing?

Swavey- man that small wheel mod is sweet, nice job, it looks really realistic.

pie- hey, we need to meet on AM sometime! for you lowering mod did you lower the back and front tabs?

Also has anybody heard of tinracers.com? I'm thinking of getting one but I don't know anyone who has them. Are there any places online that sell Microsizers Pros at a reasonable price. I NEED BOOST!!!!!

Just A Little Further

heh, I got such a kick out of Pie's responce when he thought those pics I posted of the "done" chassis were real, that I figured, what the hell. Ill just finish the beast....

Well its not exactly done. I have to run to Radio Shack tomorrow to buy another (yeah thats right, heh three shens for one mod...) shen so I can add a little more spacer and filla big hole in the chassis side. At the moment it seems to be about 1 or 2 milimeters to short... heh

No worries!!!! I cant put the body onyet anyways cause I still gotta bust out the dremel and remove the screw mount and open up the wheel wells just a hair... that part kinda worries me........

Anyways, enough chatter, Ill give you guys a taste of Swavey modding at its............ well beginning

yeah nova, we gotta hit AM sometime.. for sure!

im fùcked next month for exams... ima be dead! but after that it's allllll fun and games. literally =)
i only do front tabs... back tabs are VERY hard, and i have no idea how it would work... it's been done tho... most people just lower the body by cutting the slots further up.

swavey that chassis is lookin better by hte minute... you got that wire fixed up yet?

i heard of those tin racers.. those are audleys... bigger, but IMHO not as good as bits.. they just dont look as sexy! they get faster b/c of the longer wheelbase, but meh... Pros are... well, 20 american on the site here... and about 60 for the AM set in stores...

So i soldered some stuff 2day... Basically I was just messing around, practicing for getting the antenna on my supra off, (usin my clone)…. I got comfy with it after a while, so I melted the solder and pulled off the stock antenna.. I tested it, yeah, I didn’t screw anything up… it still worked… and I thought I could solder on the thick STIFF red wire I had… well after about 4 tries, and a lot of failures, I ended up getting a fatty glob of solder stuck in the right place. It was pretty big, so the PCB wont go down, but who cares… close enuf . after twisting and bending the damn thing to look good and fit, I set it down and ran it.

You guys ever get that feeling when someone and their whole damn crew comes up to you and says “you’re dead”? well yeah… that’s kinda how I felt when my 3.2 started crawling like a 1.0… … I fuqed the supra that swavey brought from japan!! NOO!! >_<”… I panicked and swapped out the motor, and whew… at least my 2.2 still wheelies… so I ran the 3.2 in a KIT racer for about 10 seconds, and it fixed everything… dammit, those things are GOLD…. They fix absolutely everything and a free motor for only 8 bucks… ahhh… now my bit runs hella fast, and still flips like the little devil it is ^___^ even if the range isnt much better, (a foot more maybe), it looks hella good… FAT metallic red wire

ralli ouch, I hate priniciples too. One day during a class(in grade 8) the vice-priciple came and told me he needed to see me in the office, so I was like ok, then I was there and I thought he was gonna ask me questions about someone else doing something. So he asked me what I did in 1st period and told him I was working on a computer in French class. So then he said that I "hacked" into the computer. I was the WTF!!!! I had nothing to do with it. And then he said that I was one it right when I deleted the whole hard drive. And I was like WTF!!!! But he had already called my dad and everything before he even talked to me. I was so mad. And they wanted to like suspend me and take away all my computer priveleges for the rest of my school life. Finally, a few days later my dad thought that maybe the computer didn't chance due to daylight saving time. AND IT DIDN'T!!!! Then the stupid principle called me back and said it was all figured out that I didn't do it. and it turns out they spent all the time acussing my that they didn't even get the real person who crashed it!!!!!!!

pie- I'm dead too ive done no studying yet and I have hugh test coming in the next 2 weeks.

Hey do you guys know where to get PROS for CHEAP?? I'm am looking to get them since I want to make a mountain track ala Initial-d or Auto Modelista and my cars are too fast on turning on small roads so I think if I have a booster, it will be good, even if the range sucks, it will be my table top car. And what is the price of shipping on tiny?

Well, after trying to do a Diecast mod like Swavey's (but with a spare Hotwheels truck I had), I'm officially calling the project DOA. After getting the chassis finished and reassembled, the steering quit working. I also had a hard time getting everything to fit properly into the truck shell- I wanted a low rider but it wanted to be an ugly monster truck instead. I decided to put this project on hiatus for now and concentrate on other projects. I'll probably end up taking most the parts off it tho and maybe trying to create a Bit Plane or other similar non-car/truck related RC.

On other related notes- I picked up 2 Motor Works clones at Walmart on Friday. My review is sorta mixed so I'll list everything as a pro/cons.

Motor Works Clones (in the cube package)
Pros: - Decently detailed bodies with clear windows
-Comes with several addons in the cube like several sets of tires, body kit, wing, rim covers
- Nice speed out of the cube, probably a 1.6 or 2.0
- mine ran straight as an arrow
- good run times
- Controller is small and convenient for transport, charger is not
- Good range

Cons: -Uses too many batteries! 3AA for charger, 3AAA for remote
- has this light behind the front windshield that is pointless and makes it feel cheap to me
- controller is a bit too small for bigger hands, might be good for a mod project tho
- this weird and useless 2 piece rim idea.
- dual magnet/single electro mag setup (might be a pro?)
- hardwired motor so changing it would be harder and require soldering
- charger is nice if your going to keep the thing in 1 place but bad for transport

That's about all I can think of about these for now. I'm now considering taking the one I left unopened back and getting some other type of clone they had there.

lol, nova, computers... if you wanna see some stupid stuff done to school computers, just ask pig

Pro's are pretty cheap right here in tiny's store... the LHS here has only the AM set for 60 bucks, and normal MS for 50... bits are selling at Comex for 45 now tho.. i wanna get that blue WRX!

ralliart - i think we might have been screwed out of $250... bitmod still hasnt given me the cheque back, and onlyJDM seems to have shut down, cuz i cant even e-mail the guy now. hmmm... somehow that makes me really angry.. ****, 2 and a half bills down the drain... ralliart go find that little punk-ass u wanted to beat up...

lol, good luck with all that stuff CRX... extending chassis seems to be pretty hard, and i've only seen 3 people do it... one of them being swavey =P. oh yeah, and thanks for that motorworks review... they looked pretty poor (body, rim and motor) from looking outside --> in, so we decided to pass them up... i heard they have 110mAH batts tho..

heh, i made my super-ghetto controller 2day.... after that whole battery melting incident, i insulated the connections with layers of tape, and nothing's burned for the last 2 days . also, i stuck on a 4 foot antenna, using sticky tac to keep it there... now i dont have many range problems anymore, which is hella good ^__^.

C_CRX: Dont give up man! The only way to get stuff like this done is to give it your all, and if you screw up..... fix it and keep going! I have no experience modding at all, and have made many many (heh ask pie he would know) mistakes in soldering, glueine, wireing, pretty much everything. It just take patience really. I think you should keep trying, it will pay off in the end.

I have run into a few problems lately with my custom. heh Today modded my controller to bypass the board and the timer, and just go straight off the battery. Well all was good until I started up the charger and began playing a computer game......... needless to say, a few minutes later I heard a little sizzeling noise coming from over my shoulder... heh oops. Thats one battery in the garbage.. but no wories, had another one put er in, all is well on the modding front once more..

I was thinking to myself today and remembered Pie saying something about trying those custom rims that I suggested, then the thought ran through my head that he would finish them before I did............ Well I couldnt have that so I went ahead and did up a few this evening. Here is a pic on my car all working and good (except wheel wells still need a little work) with some pre pinned and rimmed fronts. (note: the pin is totally stealth to the outside of the wheel, unlike the bit rims ... ) I only have the fronts done so far, will be working on yet another small wheel axis tomorrow just gotta get another clone first, lol

swavey we gotta meet up soon.. so i can give you a nice swift kick in the balls! ahhh!!! ><" i need extra front wheels! lol ima b lookin for some... but from who? i dunno....should i just drop the white wheelset? naw they look nice... maybe my supra wheels... eep.. i dunno!

nice job, btw...those look great, and will make some sweet wheels for my supra... u figure you could toss me a couple fronts?
screw all the springs and front ends.. 2 bodies and that funky glass-thing... what u say? eh, eh? hehe

***Edit: k well i did up those fronts... and they got one HELL of a lot of play to them, extremely wobbly, and also it looks like i can hit a -25° camber with them... it looks mean, cuz i widened the front stance a little, but it sure as hell isnt going to be my running bit. PURELY for show, and even so i have to srink the spaceres down a little...

swavey, are your wheels wobbly? mine are almost un-runnable... i think my good *customed* racing rims are going to be my whites... and im not sacrificing my bit fronts/knuckles... looks nice, but it can wait for another clone (btw, it's sitting on my LXX chassis, which i never run, so it just sits there lookin pretty)
