A Shocking Idea!!!!!
Hello, I just had a thought today for my Dnano. I was thinking about how the rear end hop's and how it could use a rear shock. What about useing the front shock off of the Xmod's Evolution Touring car? I've got a GPM set here which is a very good shock, and it's just the right size for the Dnano. Only question is, how to mount it? I see on the motor mount there are two holes. Look's like a custom bracket could be bolted across this area and an offset of some sort could be used to mount the shock to the motor mount. Now, for the front. How to mount it to the battery cover? There is no room underneath the cover for a screw to go through it, so what to do? Any suggestions would be great!

Rear shock, and screws. The screw's have a section made for pivoting.

Shock resting in position to give you an idea.

LBRC, I'd love some input from you on this subject. Any suggestions? I think this would help reduce the hopping.

Yeah I thought of the same thing marc, if you notice the two holes on either side of the battery top clip, you could fab an arch shock mount, similar to the F1 style, then the same two holes on the rear motor mount to fab a shock mount there, from there I think there is ample room for body clearence, but I think the xmod shock is a little to big, however you could mount the rear shock brace offseted back to the rear a ways to help it out. Just some thoughts but I would love to hear what lbrc has to say.

Hi there nic-Z, thank's. I looked into those holes as well for duel shocks, but finding a spring-shock system small enough is near impossible. I think I can make it work off the battery cover. Just have to unbolt the shock from the motor mount when removing the battery. No biggy, just a minor anusance. Be nice not to have to do that, but if it'll help improve the Dnano, all the better. If I can find spring's small enough to fit between those set's of holes, I'll need to fabricate a shock system for the springs. I wonder what those holes are there for in the first place? Was Kyosho planning ahead of time for a rear shock system? Hmmmmmmm. I e-mailed PN the other day to ask if they would develope parts for it, have not heard anything yet. I think this shock that I have now is the best idea yet. Only a question of how to mount it.
As for clearing the body, I guess it depends on how low-profile the shock mounting system is.

I would guess those holes are for a DPS of some sort or shock. The hopping isn't that bad on my Mazda, I was going to wait for whatever parts were released by Kyosho. Maybe the hopping is worse with the Lambo and F-car.

There is a store in my town called OEM and they supply everything you can imagine as for scratch building a robot, or a computer, or what ever electric. I bet they will have spring's and stuff I can use to make-up a rear shock for this. It's an awesome place to visit. If you knew what you were doing, you could literatlly scratch build a computer peice by peice. They have springs and bearings of every size in existance!
