ZZ MT Tri Cell

So I just bought a ZZ MT along with another ZZ and I don't think I am going to actually end up using the ZZ so I figured I would use the battery in the ZZ and add it to the two batteries that the MT already has to make the MT a tri cell. My question is how to connect the batteries up, everything else I should be able to figure out. It looks like the two cells in the MT are hooked up + to - and I think (correct me if I am wrong) that only makes it last longer, not go faster or stronger, and I want it to go stronger, so how could I do this? If necessary I can get another cell to make it a 4 cell, but I would rather do it with the 3. Thanks.

well it is wired up + to - and that would make more power. + to + is more storage...so just charge up the 2 cell in the mt and the 1 cell in the zz car and then take it apart and put the 3rd cell on...i dont have a zz mt yet so i couldnt tell u how to put it in the car....

well you got it alittle wrong..peralel is ++ and - -...series is + - + -.
so you would want to wire it in a series...also if it was even the way you say it would be wrong again since when u wire it up + - + you get more volteg not amprige. but wiring it up + + to - - would give you more amprige, but the same volteg.....

So then, how exactly do we best get that third cell in there, and when we do will we need to build a stand alone charger? Does anyone have a good clear pic of the finished mod to post here?
Can I use the cell out of an old unused zz or should I score a new one? Is this to many questions to post here?

i just did it to mine with the same set up you're talking about. the power was great! stock motor, gears, and tires. awesome power. since i can't afford a fet mod for it, this is the next best thing. i'm putting 3 160mah cells in it tomorrow. more power, longer runtimes. to hook it up, just unsolder the neg wire from the car. then, solder the neg wire from the other batt to that spot. solder the 2 remaining wires together. that's it. the neg wire from the dual cell to the pos wire of the extra batt, and the neg wire from that cell to the contact. simple, yah? they should all be the same mah for best results, but it seems to work fine the way you were going to do it.

Okay, done and done, but I am getting the dreaded amber light on my charger/remote. Does this mean I need to build a stand alone charging unit? If so, where do I start?
