i have the idea to take a light kit an cut the headlights an tails off (to save battery power)an wire however many led's you need to the headlight wires an position them under the car
i think im first only gonna try it with 4 Blue LED's under my skyline 2 in the front an 2 in the back and point them toward the middle of the car so you dont get a big circle of glow on the ground.
i painted my skyline silver an it turned out way better than i thought an i bought the graphic making kit at walmart that bc posted about an they have a graphic like the one brian had in 2f2f on his skyline so i might try to re create that skyline with blue glow an blue graphics

Sorry for the bad pic, red doesn't come out to well in pics. I may do this to a different color car. Also, you can wire up normal LED's you get from RS to the light kit. I have tried it and it works. I may do a different color and stick them on one of my other cars like the blue Skyline.

What did you do with the other "front lights"? Did you take them out or something?

The kit I used here didn't have the front LED's, I robbed them for another project. I actually have 3 LED's wired to one side of the brakes, and 2 LED's wired to the other side. Nothing wired to the headlight wires.....yet.

They stay on, but get brighter when you hit the brakes. What you do is drive in dim mode, and when you park, hold your trigger foreward and they will brighten up, that way you won't get any tickets when going down the road with them on.

I just taped them to the bottom, so they would drag if I drove it. Like I said, it was just to see what if. I plan on making it permanent and moving them up in the body with reflective tape.

something you might want to try is use a clear reflecter from like a bike and make it so the leds shine through it. this will make the light spread out more. just split the reflecter in half and cut a small strip out of the plastic. and like hot glue the lights to it. it will also give you an easy way to keep the lights together.

Or you could use a mini glow stick.

hey BC...
question for you BC...
do you know the functions of each of the wires in the plug for the lights? i'm really interested in which is the continuous power supply... i'm sure you already know what i'm getting at...
in this way, you get continuous lighting when the car is on, never getting brighter when the car moves or when hitting the brakes... (whichever side you would have chosen to wire them to)

another thing the light kit does is it makes the voltage lower... like if you find the power wire and hook LEDs up to it you would get the full 6v...(or whatever your car is at)... and 6v cooks LEDs... if you want them to be on continious then you may have to hide some button batterys under the body and hook them to the leds...
