Hood - Trunk Open
This is my first MOD on a ZIP-ZAP, I made my Corvette have opening hood and trunk. I am working on the hinges. Any ideas or thoughts? Have plenty of sharp X-ACTO blades.

Instructions
Cutting Hood and Trunk from Body
The ZIP-ZAP bodies have indentations to highlight doors, hoods, trunks, etc. I took a new X-acto blade knife and slowly traced the indents for the hood, use very little pressure. It takes awhile to get the knife to cut through the plastic body. Work around the piece you want to cut out so that it is being cut out equally. If you cut one side through first you may break the part. That your time on cutting along the indent especially near the corners, you can go beyond the indent, ( I nicked the body on mine in a couple of sports, does not show much except close up). The windows usually has a little edge that can be used as a guide for cutting. I used 4 blades cutting out the hood and trunk.
After I got the pieces cut out I took some 200 grit sandpaper to get the rough edges off then followed with 400 grit.
I am working on making a hinge so they will open and close.
You might want to use an old body to practice with.
Just be careful with the knife and take it slow.

Hey ,
Nice work man , its very clean i like it alot.
For the hinges , try your local home depot .
They sell a selection of small hinges that would be perfect for this . I baught some not so long ago and havent got round to using them yet .

Dont you people understand !
There is a date on posts , so use it !
Why on earth would you want to bring up a post from ages ago just to say that you like it , the guy prolly isnt even here anymore , and if he is he prolly doesnt care , if the post is over a month old , LEAVE IT BE , people dont want to see a post in the forum at the top , that they have allready seen , nor do they want an email (like i get - optional) to tell me that you have replied to say , "cool" or "i like it" or "i might do that" - go do it. and start your own thread man .
Not intending to be rude , but somebody needs to tell you guys

I have to second the "let it die it's death" thing.
But I was going to leave like a 3 month window that someone other than the author should be able to bring it back up, unless the person wanting to post in it has a really good idea to add to the conversation. Or if there's an unfinished project someone's doing, and you want to know what happened to it then you can probably ressurect old ones, but if they already have several "post updates!" things; just realize it's a dead project and move on.
I agree with you completely that the C5 looks sweet with the hood and deck opening, but if I were that amazed by it, I'd probably grab a body and start hacking. Make my post as a new thread, and maybe toss in a link to this thread giving credit for the idea.
But that's just me.

Definatly agree , Its ok to bring up a thread if you have a good reason.
But to bring it up to say "cool" or "sweet" or "i dont like it"
Is pointless !
