I was rummaging around in the old workshop (read: basement) and found some old gun cleaning products I had. I found some old Prolix. For those who don't know, Prolix is a gun cleaner/solvent that does not contain grease, oils, silicones, or graphite.
Well, they also make a lubricant called Xtra-T. It too has no "normal" lube ingredients. I happened to have some. Of course, I had to try it on my Bit gears. Man oh MAN! This stuff works great on Bits. It's not overly greasy, and it's almost dry to the touch.
I used the tiniest drop on the pinion gear and idler gear. Not only did it quiet the gears, but it REALLY smoothed things out. It no longer sounds like an ice machine when I drive my booster with Perfection 3.8. Most importantly, hardly any dust, debris or hair was attracted to the gears.

I don't know if my experience is unique, but I finally found a good lubricant for my micro R/Cs.
