There's been a little debate and just plain WRONG information given about what the dimensions of the Bits are and whether certain things will fit (like motors and batteries).
Well, I took my Digital Caliper out (accurate to +/- 0.02mm) and took some measurements...Once and for all, we'll KNOW the real deal.
The Bit Chassis:
- Outside measurement of the section that holds the battery: 18.3mm
- Stock NiCad battery: 10.3mm diameter x 15.4mm tall
The ZipZaps Chassis:
- Outside measurement of the section that holds the battery: 18.6mm
- Stock NiMH battery: 10.3mm diameter x 15.6mm tall
* Those outside measurements includes the thickness of the chassis AND the metal tabs that the batteries touch...Which makes up about 2mm worth. So you MIGHT be able to push up to a 16.5mm tall battery in the ZipZap and a little smaller for the Bit.
With only 0.3mm more width, the ZipZap DOESN'T offer that much more width vs. the Bit.
