Accounts being hacked is not new.....It has happend on many boards that I frequent.
If he was really guilty I doubt he would sign under a new name and try to explain it....anyone who posts that kind of crap *cussing* etc does not give a rip.......generally guilty parties don't try to explain themselves or appologize....so I would give him the benifit of the doubt....I think he is honest.
Besides.....it's unlikely that the guy who did it would want to associate his new username with the offending username and pretend he did not do it......considering he could just start fresh and no one would be the wiser!...there is no point in doing that.
