New to ZZ MT's

Hey Im new here, obviously. Yesterday at my friends house i foundn an un opened monster truck zipzap. I asked him if i could take it homem and put it together and mess with it and he said i could. Its a Spider man hummer one. Well, this thing is SO awsome. I played with it for hours. I much liked crawling things and obstacles. I found on my own that taking the led top body off gives it more stability and the suspension pins hanging down can be shaved off for better carpet movement.

I like how they are so cheap too. I wanted to do gas cars and traxxas cars but they are too expensive. These can be modified like them cant they? I noticed they have lousy steering and travel. Do they make softer springs, lift kits, different chassis, etc? I found the mt performance upgrade pack but speed is the last thing i want for a crawler. Is there a way i can make it go slower, but have more power when it comes to climbing something?

or mayby the axles go further out so the tires are further from the bulky chassis so it desnt flip as easy.

Someone please help me get started into building crawlers and doing mods to make this the ultimate crawler?lol I dont have many spare parts or anything though...
